Chapter 7 in which a fight between Sarah, the pirates and lost boys commences...
Only minutes had passed before the Master had completed the repairs and we were up in the air.
The ship rotated as it climbed higher and higher, reaching past the tops of the trees to the very tip of the clouds, accumulated in the midst of the near blackened night sky.
There, I ordered my Timelord companion to halt.
I began to jump on down towards the doors upon turning to the others, who were apparently awaiting my instructions.
"Jim..get out Tink's bag."
The Irishman watched me a minute, his eyes darkened and a bit confused, before he began to shift awkwardly to follow through with my command.
With a quick turn of the knob, I opened the door and looked down upon the ocean beneath us, a blast of wind rushing around me. All I saw was a tiny blot of the ship, with even tinnier blots in place of people.
I tilted my head in wonder as my mind tried to guess with all it's accurate might what was happening.
If those two British fiends were hurting the fairy I had only just come to befriend, there would be serious Mordor to pay.
Unfortunately, I couldn't tell what was going on.
Which only meant that I needed to proceed with Plan B.
I felt a slightly rough nudge against my arm at that moment and I automatically turned to the correctly-guessed Moriarty, whom held out Tink's bag infront of him, giving it and myself a disinterested glare.
I took it, gratefully.
"Thank you."
"What'd you want it for??" He asked, trying not to sound too enthused.
He stuffed his hands in his pockets just as I reached into the dirty satchel to retrieve a thing.
Once I gripped around a particular object, I smiled and pulled it out, dropping the bag to the floor.
I now held the all-seeing orb tightly with both gloved hands.
It once again was glowing a bright, mystical yellow, as if forged from the sun itself.
The boys' attention was piqued, particular the Master's, and all four soon surrounded me, unable to take their eyes off of it. A couple might have viewed it as treasure, but the Timelord looked to be mesmerized not by greed, but by pure scientific wonderment.
Like it was a brand new, astonishing discovery that he could no doubt utilize for his own malicious intentions.
"What is that??"
I cut my eyes at him, half-suspiciously, then at the others, and I shrugged.
"A type of thing that sees things."
"What does it do??"
"It--" I was about to answer, but I stopped myself and closed my open mouth.
Jim was a big boy, he could figure it out soon enough.
I steadied the orb and freed a hand, which I used to give the top a fast twirl of the finger.
I seriously felt like a conjurer every time I did this.
It swirled into a dark shade of purple, as if accepting a password like a computer and taking you to the home screen. "Show me Tink, won't you?" I half pleaded.
My heart grew mildly happy when it cleared itself of the shrouding mist and mystery and began to reveal foggy silhouettes that were slowly developing into actual people. A scene could be made out now, sort've.
Finally, it was listening to me.
The boys had gotten so close, that I could feel them breathing powerfully down my neck and prodding themselves against my sides, of which made me unbearably uncomfortable, shrinking in size and making a slight whimpering sound from the inside of my throat.
Personal space is mere hearsay.
Jim's own curiosity got the better of him and without the slightest hint of permission or warning, he reached in with a very clean hand and touched it. Before I could yelp at him to get away, he traced his fingertips along the side of it, a golden glow following his touch like one of those electric storm orby things.
When he had his fun, he retracted his arm and rubbed his fingers together as if he had touched something messy or that had an unpleasant temperature, staring down at his skin with slightly lowered, distressed eyebrows.
"Well??" I impatiently pushed for an answer, taking my full attention off of the orb and onto the Irish bug.
"....it's hot." "Go figure."
"What is it made of?" "The tears of my victims."
Joker snickered.
Jim, for once, was not amused and cut only his eyes at me, with zero emotion.
"The truth."
"How should I know? Tink's it's owner..sorta." "Sorta??" Joker darkly grogged. "What's sorta?"
I did a hesitant hum.
"Spilllllll." He prodded, sticking a finger out and bringing it close as if going to poke my side.
"She sorta stole it from Pan???" I yelped under pressure.
The clown suddenly gasped in surprise as he withdrew his arm and heaved almost, with a huge natural smile appearing on his then covered mouth. It was as if he were containing a laugh.
Bane shrugged his shoulders uneasily, while the Master and Jim rose their eyebrows in their own surprise.
"What a thieving little fairy..." "Thiefer Bell." Jim blotted out, with a snort.
"THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I SAID." I squealed.
Bane shuffled from behind and in that instant, I felt his strong unmistakable touch lay atop my shoulder and I peeked over at the masked individual.
"Listen."
Always a man full of words, that one.
I and the others went silent. Sure enough, Bane was right to quiet us down.
For we now had sound coming from the orb.
"So, what do you suppose they are??"
It was Pan, who stood aboard the pirate ship, facing Captain Hook, the pirate pacing back and forth and side to side, while wielding a bag of something in his open palm.
Peter had Tinker Bell beside him, holding onto her arm with a tight, unpleasant grip.
"I've not the slightest idea.." Hook hummed, looking worried and under pressure, fooling via careful strokes with his messy black hair using his hook.
"Well, start getting an idea. Demens will be here soon..if those are a weapon, we need to-"
"The girl can't fly." The pirate scoffed with a wave of a hand and Pan stared at him blankly, his mouth hanging open as if to say more. He paused for a moment.
That's what you think.
"That's what you think."
Hey! Copycat. >:(
"Don't underestimate her. Don't let her being a girl fool you. She's powerful."
At first I was offended. Then I was not.
"She'll just as soon stab you with your own sword."
"I'll like to see her try."
I bet you would.
"I bet you would."
Dude, for real. Get your own lines.
"You worry too much."
"Listen to me." Pan seemed pretty antsy. A far cry from the unapologetic smugness I was used to.
"I don't have the means to stop all of them on my own. I'm going to need you to help-"
"Them?"
At that instant, Hook had turned right around, eyeing Pan with a fierceness as if he were a strict father.
"Did you say, them??......she rejoined with her companions?!"
Pan almost sank into a tiny boy.
Hook's eyes were full of flames. "You let her return to her ship?! How could you let that happen?! They'll be even MORE powerful together!" "Not if you help me!" "Like I trust you. You can't even carry out a simple order to keep a girl away from her lowlife travel mates."
"Do keep in mind who they came to! I was the one they trusted with the plan, to handle the Queen when she arrived. You wouldn't even know any of this if I hadn't have told you. We're allies in this, only by MY choice."
This shut the captain up. He knew Peter was right.
In that same moment, Pan outstretched his arm towards the pirate, with his open palm exposed.
Hook gave it an intense look of disdain, as if knowing what was coming.
"Give them to me."
His brows lowered to this and his piercing blue eyes traced slowly up to Pan's young face, teetering in unthinkable darkness. God only knows the things that were developing in that brain of his, regarding what he wished to do to the boy. "These are mine."
Pan's look of obvious irritation was stifled by his returning held-together smugness.
I felt a slightly rough nudge against my arm at that moment and I automatically turned to the correctly-guessed Moriarty, whom held out Tink's bag infront of him, giving it and myself a disinterested glare.

Pan's look of obvious irritation was stifled by his returning held-together smugness.
"Not for long."
Well, my plan was sort've working, and I hadn't even been there yet.
They were turning on eachother.
Tinker Bell, meanwhile, was looking nervous..if a fight were to break out, she'd be in the crossfire and there'd be no one to protect her.
If things were gonna get ugly, I would have to move that instant. Before it was too late for my fairy friend.
"Peter, please let me go." She spoke in a faint whisper.
He turned his head at her. She silently pleaded to him, with the saddest eyes imaginable.
But he didn't give in to her pleas; he merely looked back at Hook.
"We needed Maleficent. How else are we supposed to extract her?"
His attention returned to Tink, who's eyes grew.
"Don't worry.." Hook answered, slowly approaching the fairy in a manner that seemed like flirting and threatening at the same time. "If she just makes this ship fly, we can take her to see Maleficent ourselves..extracting her will no longer be a problem then."
I could see Tink start to panic and gradually start to tug away from Pan's grasp.
"No..please, don't!"
"Sorry, Tink.." Pan said softly, his eyes focused on her, filling with false regret.
"But I need your dust more than I need you...can't have you escaping again..can I?"
what the....extracting?????
I had no clue how that was gonna work, but it obviously was being implied that by doing so, there would no longer be a Tink. And that was unacceptable.
This time, I was the one to cut the feed off.
After putting the dimming orb back into Tink's bag, I stood back up straight and shot glances at the boys, who were still standing uber close to me.
With a single, perfectly silent nod, they knew it was time, and at once began to scatter to their positions.
I turned my head back to the open doorway and approached it, grabbing onto the frame.
Once more, all I could see was a tiny ship with tinier people, surrounded by a currently dark bluish sky, translucent clouds, the air cool and windy.
As my ponytail blew along with the coming breeze, I tightened the back of it, as a man would tighten his tie, and I pulled out one of my guns from it's holster.
Hang in there, Tink..we're coming.
- - - -
Not much can be said other than telling you that the Master piloted us silently down towards the ocean,
steadily attempting to maintain discreetness. We didn't want the pirates or Lost Boys to know we were coming, as you can imagine.
Not yet.
As we pulled up right above the giant continent of water, that none of us could see through in this lighting, that's when I got the winning idea.
"Can we go underwater?"
The Timelord at once shot his head at me, with an exasperated expression planted on his face.
"Come again???"
My eyes drifted to him from across the room. "You heard me."
He merely fluttered his eyes.
"What are you up to, Demens??" Jim yapped, shooting his head at me, as well.
I rose an eyebrow, putting on a cocky facade. "You'll see."
And oh, see they did.
After a few seconds of uneasy glances directed at me from literally everyone, and a couple of inaudible mutters thrown in no doubt also aimed at me, the Master complied with my inkling and shifted our ship downwards. I ran next to him to watch the monitor that picked up the camera feed, where I giddily shifted and hunched over in excited anticipation.
The camera, along with our T.A.R.D.I.S., was gradually submerging into the water, the surface of the ocean bubbling almost like the inside of a cauldron. I not only could hear the sound coming from the monitor, but from the in and out side of the ship, as well, coming in a thunderous hum.
It was loud and nerve-racking. In a good way, of course. Almost like getting on an amusement ride.
The view of the sky and pirate ship, that laid about a mile or two away from us, was sinking, and now all I was being permitted to see was the darkened bottom of the ocean.
Fish.. rocks.. a few sharks scattered here and there, searching for prey .. seaweed swaying a longggg ways away from us..and the underside of the ship, it's anchor hanging down to the ocean floor.
Now, below the waves, all was quiet. I eyed the doorway to check to see if we were leaking, but Gallefreyan technology is surprisingly pretty airtight. The only sound that could be heard every-so-often was an awkward creaking that echoed from the distance.
There's something chilling about being underwater. Something almost terrifying and empty..sad, even.
It's one of the most common and highly regarded things in our world, yet is also one of the most powerful, mysterious and unexplored forces that anyone can think of.
I dare say, for I now have experience, that it can accurately be compared to space.
It's always given me the shivers, especially knowing that not only can it suck the life, a.k.a. air, from you, but that it also contains creatures that will attack you nine times out of ten, and have every intention to kill, and there is very little you can do to fight back.
I, myself, hate being tied down in a place where I can't easily fight back.
I normally would probably be freaking out if I was on the other side of those doors, but being on the inside was different. Here, I could enjoy being a part of the ocean, without actually being a part of it.
And this left me with an amazed gaze as my eyes became glued to the monitor.
All the loud, annoying sounds ceasing completely and the haunting, distant gurgled silence of the water was all that my ears could detect in the large, open room. My eyes broke from their trance and I looked around.
The room itself seemed to have dimmed and adopt an almost blue tint, that reminded me of an aquarium.
From the corner of my eye, I saw one of the smaller, passing sharks brush against the camera, and the T.A.R.D.I.S. itself. This pushed it back and made us drift backwards a bit.
Master held onto the controls to steady us, quietly cussing the shark out.
My head turned, my expression mystified as my mouth gaped open, to him and to the others, the other three chaps standing apart from one another and staring wondrously around them.
I took small steps down to their level, holding my arms out as if to keep balance.
I could actually feel the T.A.R.D.I.S. floating underwater and it was beyond surreal.
"I think I understand now what you're getting at.." Master said aloud.
I turned back to him. As he held onto the controls, his eyes cut at me.
"You want to surprise them by pulling out from the water next to their ship...am I right?"
My eyes lit up like twinkle lights, as they often do when I'm really happy and I'm in good lighting, and I nodded my head with a sweetened smile. "Uh-huh."
He grinned at this, almost seeming impressed.
"They'll never know what hit 'em." Joker inputted.
At this, he looked at me and I looked at him and he gave me a thumbs-up.
Even if it was done with a straight face.
Progress.
"Wonderful. Now can we please get out from under here??"
I couldn't help but grin at Jim, who obviously was proving himself to not be a fan of the ocean.
As I turned my attention to him, I could see he was trying to keep his balance and his cool, as he tried to mask the unmistakable expression of getting sick.
I reached in from the three foot distance between us and pat him on the shoulder, not really needing to speak a word. I turned my head back to Master, holding my hand on his shoulder--as I did, Jim cut his gaze to me and held it there for the longest time. I gave the Timelord the okay to move.
The bleach-headed alien nodded and began to navigate in the pirate ship's direction.
Joker jumped over to the Irishman and myself and leaned in real close to the side of Moriarty's head.
"What's the matter, Jimbo? Not 'fraid of a lil' water.." He slapped his hand on the other shoulder.
"-ARE ya?!"
Just as I let go, I smacked at J's arm, which in turn Jim smacked his hand, and we both wound up simultaneously smacking the clown, who retracted his arm and gave us a silent, sulky poochy face..
I gave him a look that one gives a bigger sibling who's picking on the shorter sibling, and I'm sure he felt at that moment that I was silently scolding him.
Never before had I felt more like the lot's sister than I did at that moment.
Especially when I shook my head at him disapprovingly and put an arm protectively around the Irish bug, who seemed to enjoy it, as he shivered snugly, with a hint of a content smile.
And I actually didn't mind anymore.
"Demens." My attention snapped to Master. He nodded.
I knew what was up and I looked back at the others. "Be ready, boys."
Jim, Joker, and then Bane, all moved their eyes to me and I gained a considerable amount of flirty attention from you-know-who when I had suddenly pulled out my other gun, having been holding onto the other one the whole time, and clicked in a mag. "Things are about to get a little wild."
° ° ° °
Just as we were about to lift up from the water, Bane had gotten a hold of Tink's bag and pulled out the orb.
He mimicked what I had done, though a bit more manly like, and at once, the small globe lit up with life and the all-too familiar images of Pan and Hook appeared.
My heart skipped a beat at what I saw.
A pirate was holding Tink against him, with a sharp looking knife to her throat..standing next to Hook, who was meanwhile pointing his pistol at Pan's head. Both the two's lackeys stood behind them, in an unsettling face-off that looked like it could ugly at any second.
I lunged my head at Master, while lunging my body to the doors, and quickly grabbed a knob.
"NOW, Master, do it NOW!"
He was already on the case; the ship was now being lifted up as if pulled straight towards the surface.
I could feel the dark emptiness fading away, the color of the room changing, and, in a way, my oxygen returning. I stared back at the door infront of me, and briefly closed my eyes as I near-silently sent a prayer for Tink's safety, as well as my own. Even though I'm always less concerned about myself..actually believing that you're immortal and that you can easily shake off minor to critical wounds tends to instinctively give you a disregard for your own safety.
I know, I'm crazy, blah blah blah. So was Van Gogh and no one says anything about him.
But on the bright side, at least I don't make nearly as many selfish choices as others do in dire situations.
So..if there ever came a time where you needed saving..be glad I'm crazy.
I didn't even need to see the camera to know we were out of the water and crawling up the side of Hook's ship. Only seconds remained before we would be exposed to the pirates.
I took a deep breath, forced as it might've been, and held up my weapon.
"Bane, I'm gonna need ya to catch her." "Catch her?!" Joker exclaimed.
Bane did not question me; in fact, he was already next to me by the time I finished my sentence.
The others were a bit fidgety themselves..until the moment of truth came and just as Master yelled out, "NOW!", I instantly reacted and threw the door wide open.
All eyes present on the ship darted to us.
"DEMENS!"
Hook and Pan cried in unison, right before I stuck out my gun and shot a single bullet at Tink's captor's exposed leg. As he cried out in pain, Tink, surprised as ever at our arrival, immediately broke from her own shock and grabbed a hold of his arm, twisting it with a vengeance.
She then guided it towards his chest and plunged his own knife deep into it, making him howl in agony.
With a single motion, she kicked him back, knocking him into a bunch of others that collapsed upon impact, surrounding scoundrels being brought down like dominoes.
Next, she turned and wham!
Punched Hook right in da face, who was thrown back into Pan, causing more chain-falling.
With 3 simple moves, Tink had done her own work of buying us some time; there wasn't even any need of me having to back her up. Apparently, she had been waiting for this opportunity.
She hurried to the edge of the ship and stared up at us, rather worriedly, as the distance seemed a bit much.
She glanced down at the ocean below, her bones starting to tremble from within her limbs.
"Jump, Tink, jump!!"
Her face tightened in fear as she shifted in a panic..but when Hook recovered and was now struggling to get back up and no doubt leap after her, yelling sharply "KILL HER!!"-- his men instinctively about to follow their captain's command-- this jolted her into action and with a yelp, she lunged herself forward, having no other choice, towards our aircraft. Even though it was roughly a ten foot distance, working the jump over it was a feat, especially when under pressure.
My heart started racing when Tink's hand grabbed then slipped from the edge and she began to fall.
But all became well when Bane leapt out and caught her, with tremendous force and accuracy, by the arm.
Her body yanked to a halt and she winced as she jerked forward and hit her forehead against the edge of the ship. I sure hoped that fairies didn't file lawsuits.
With a tiny bit of strain, Bane grunted and heaved the fairy up, pulling her right inside in a matter of seconds.
When the two were behind me, that's when I acted-
I brought up my other gun and sent bullets flying straight at the pirates who dared to try and shoot, and they went down with several panicked screams and painful groans.
Many ducked, including the Lost Boys, and Pan and Hook jerked themselves back, in absolute awe of my boldness to take a stand..as well as my successful aim.
As soon as the enemy was down, I leapt back inside, shutting the door behind me with a slam.
"GO!"
As soon as it was closed and the Master piloted us backwards, lifting up towards the sky, I could hear the high-pitched, clanging sound of bullets hitting against where I stood..and, of course, bouncing right off.
I turned with a grin, placing my guns in their holsters, and pointed behind me with a thumb.
"Eh? Eh? Perks of having a bulletproof ship, baby!"
My companions were not amused by my gloating.
Eyes moved to Tink, who, once she and Bane stood up straight, hugged the brute which threw him off guard, and then ran and hugged me--even though I tried to resist--and she pulled back, laughing in half-excited, half-exhausted relief. "You saved me!! You came!!"
I lowered my brows and shifted my hoodie. "Course! I wasn't about to leave ya in the clutches of those miscreants! Never leave a friend behind, that's what I say."
Her smile widened and she went in for another hug, but I threw my hands up, backing away like she were diseased. "Ehhhh, no more hugs!"
She obeyed and instead ran for the others. Joker flinched her away..Jim greatly accepted and even smelled behind her (she admittedly did smell nice, like flowers and berries)..and the Master, who pulled away and winked at her with a short rise of the brow and she giggled and that was enough of that.
"Tink."
At this, she turned.
"-What caused Hook to be thrown over the edge, leading to his gun pointing at Pan's head?"
This caused her to snap back to non-flirting reality and away from my stinking boys, how dare, and her expression was one of worry. "Hook was given a bag of marbles and Peter wanted them, and me, all for himself. So Hook turned against him and was going to kill him right before you got there."
"Well darn." I joked. "Just a moment too soon."
She crinkled her eyebrows, obviously taking offense at this, so I quickly went to recover and change the subject. I cleared my throat, awkwardly,
"What were the marbles??"
She shifted, "I don't know.."
"In any case, it doesn't matter, we're out of here!"
But Tinker Bell swung her body around and threw her arms up. "Don't! Not yet!!"
Master immediately hit his fist hard against the panel with a very loud and frustrated,
"yaaaAAARRRRRRRR!!!"
"WHY, what are we waiting for?!" Joker exclaimed, waving his hands around. "Let's just BAIL!"
"NO!" Tink snapped. "We can't leave them with those marbles!"
"Or their spirits." I muttered. Her gaze fixed on me.
"Whatever they are, I have a feeling they're dangerous. Hook and Peter will only use them against us!"
"Agreed."
All focus changed to Bane, whose focus changed to me.
"Acquiring them will prove to be a valuable advantage for us. Leaving it in enemy hands would be a grave mistake, miss Sarah."
"Man speaks some sense. I'm in..as long as we get to kill things."
Oh, Joker. >_>
"No, no, who cares, LET'S JUST LEAVE."
"Hey now." I interrupted, glaring at Master. "No matter what's wrong or right about a situation, it's always inevitably gonna be my decision on what we do."
Our party fell in silence as I turned my head back to Tink, and I, too, waited for my decision.
I didn't take much longer.
"Bane and Tink are right. We can't afford to let them slip away with something potentially dangerous to us. We can't give the enemy any more advantages over us than they already have. They're dazed now..it's the perfect opportunity to play on their fears and strike them at their weakest."
My bright, large eyes gravitated to each person thoroughly.
"Agreed?"
Tink immediately nodded, hurriedly. Bane did a single, slow nod, like he was better than all of us with his proper little mannerisms. Joker shrugged lazily, Jim made a lopsided frown and Master sighed and lowered his shaking head. Four against two..and even if you DIDN'T count Joker, it would still be three against two, so in any case, I won, with pure fair-and-square tallies.
huh...it was almost as if I were running for presidency than for Queendom.
Not much time at all passed before we started to hear--and feel--violent poundings against the side of the T.A.R.D.I.S. and we all shot our heads to the direction it came from.
I mockingly gasped and went for the doorway, throwing a door open and eyeballing the ship below us.
By Joe, they were shooting a cannon at us!
"HOW DARE. You suckers dare shoot at your queen?! The audacity! Do you even know how in trouble you are?!" As I turned back, I saw that Master, Joker and Jim had all come close to me, getting out their weapons and I jerked my head. My brows rose at their preparation, but I didn't have to question it to know what was up. They were going to back up their queen.
"uhhhhhhh, question.."
Yeah, Joker, you DO ruin every moment of mine...but go on.
"Hate to be that guy..butttttt...how exactly are we going to do this? Just drop you off?"
"Why not?..sounds fun."
I winked at my other male companions. Master only smiled wide and handsomely at me.
It wasn't until after he sassed me, however, that I realized it was done in sarcasm, "Yes, I'm tremendously looking forward to cleaning up splattered Demens off the pirate ship...never going to happen."
I got up real close to him, raising my eyebrows as I pointed. "Never say never, Saxon."
He was a little taken by this...I was only trying to be mysterious, but I fear he might have mistaken it for me flirting. *head desk* what is life.
In that instant, my eyes dared to move back down to the water and the ship and I gradually began to gain a feeling of worry.
"But uh...the question remains..how do I settle this??"
"Yes, about that-"
My head swiveled to Tink, who had suddenly appeared beside me, facing in my direction.
She was starting to do me a frighten and I rose my eyebrows, paranoid, as the dimmed pirate lights from below and the T.A.R.D.I.S. lights to the left reflected off of her face.
And she was looking a bit serious, which a serious blonde kind've scares me.
#FairyIntensifies
"Yeaaahhhhh??" I pushed, getting freaked out by her silence.
Her face flexed and she slowly pulled out a handful of something from one of her side pouches, with the straightest looking face I'd ever seen on anyone.
As I started to get even more worried that say like, she might've been corrupted or just evil or something of that nature, she gave me a look of reassurance.
"This is my gift to you, Sarah..I know you can do it..for all of us...."
My confusion increased.
"..But I'm sorry about this."
Back to fear again.
Just as Tink couldn't get any more enigmatic, the little wench suddenly blew something straight at my face from her open palm and I coughed and I wheezed and hacked and backed away and help, blondes gone wild!! AND SUDDENLY FREAKING BAD WORD UPON A THOUSAND OTHER BAD WORDS, BETRAYAL, THE HEINOUS LITTLE PIXIE SHOVED ME BY THE CHEST, RIGHT OFF THE EDGE OF THE DOORWAY, MISTAKES WERE MADE IN TRUSTING HER.
The last sounds I heard were the shouts of my companions and Tink's parting message of,
"Think happy thoughts!!"
Yeah, well it's a liTTLE HARD TO THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS WHEN YOU'RE FALLING TO YOUR DEATH.
Before reality gave me a swift kick in the ribs to remind me that this was indeed still real and I was still here, I had already been falling thousands of feet to my doom at the bottom of the ocean, and yes, I did scream, but remember, my non-girly, non-high-pitched scream.
More like an adolescent boy's scream.
My arms held out for help that wasn't gonna come, clutching at the rushing, empty air around me.
I hurled faster and faster and faster towards the water below and I became extremely discomforted by the image popping suddenly in my head of me sinking into the large body of salty liquid and the first and last thing I'd see is the open jaws of a giant shark that would easily engulf my tiny self and I'd be history..well, ya know. At least to some people.
Or worse. A smaller set of sharks would get a hold of me..and tear me apart, in different parts, and I'd be shared around here and there like a bag of chips. And THEN I'd be history. Or whatever common folk become when they die. My head hurt just thinking about it and I was not prepared.
this was a terrible way to go and I would hate that stupid fairy forever.
At least for the next five seconds.
I wondered if it was even possible to haunt fictional characters. huh.
As soon as I saw the ocean come into view below me, I yelped and threw my arm over my eyes.
At once, my mind was filled with a million images..images that made me happy.
My family, my friends, my dog, Mystery Boy (what was he doing there????) ((but hey, his beautiful face brought me joy, so what-evs)), Characters themselves, sugary things, Pizza, Pepsi, me writing, movies, Pizza, Pepsi, I already said that, but there they were, my dream of being a filmmaker, going to the movies, reading, writing, Pizza, get out've my brain bro--and poof.
My body felt it. My brain clicked.
My arm removed itself. My eyes opened.
I, Sarah Demens, was floating in the air.
The water laid flat and alive below me, daring me to drop the rest of the way..
the rest of the way being only about six inches.
I was so close to touching it, my face barely just about to dip at the surface.
I gulped, wobbling upside down, feeling like a teabag hovering over a teacup.
And just as I moved my eyes to inspect the rest of my body, I now saw that there was nothing holding me up. I was holding me up. Just me.
And upon shifting my movement, I found that I could now simply guide my body right back up, and it felt like I had actually made it to the other side of that water, my limbs waving awkwardly as if trying to swim.
My eyes gravitated to my legs and I saw the truth;
golden sparkly dust showered mildly from the bottoms of my boots.
My chest swelled intensely at the sight, my eyes watered from the shock, and when they water, they redden, so it appeared as if I'd been crying. My mouth quivered, my arms shook like chicken wings, and my jaw fell, gasping like a surprised prairie dog.
I WAS FRICKING FLYING, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.
I COULD FLY, I COULD FLY, I COULD FLY!
I WAS FLYING!!!
I sent out a squeal as I kicked around, hooting and wooing, clapping idiotically like a happy seal, and cheering and sending out brief screams as I held my head intensely and laughed, manically.
I found that a new part of my brain had opened up. A part that I never had to use before.
Or, at least, couldn't. And it had somehow connected itself with the dust.
Without a bit of instruction or fraction of further thought, I looked up.
And that's all I had to do; tell my body the action, and as if I was a toy car controlled by a remote, my body moved upwards. An amazing thing was taking place that no human had publicly ever been able to accomplish. I flew.
My brain commanded the rest of me to move to the T.A.R.D.I.S. doors, and so it did.
Usually a new thing is pretty awkward when you're first learning it.
I jiggled a little as I tried to balance myself in mid-air, but I like to think I'm a fast learner.
I caught the gist relatively quickly. The dust also seemed to stable whatever other part I couldn't control as easily, so it made the flight up even more amazing.
Once I got there, the first person I saw was Tinker Bell, who stared in absolute awe, her eyes twinkling with gold. The boys, who had apparently leapt forward to either get the fairy for pushing me to my implied death..or just look to watch me fall to my implied death..stood behind her with their own expressions of awe.
Master's eyes widened, Jim's mouth ran agape, Joker's brows rose, and Bane..well, to be perfectly honest, the man is a Darth Vader. You never know for sure what emotion he has.
One thing was for sure; all eyes were set on the flying girl. rude.
Jim pointed at me, with a hint of an attitude. "YOU!"
"ME!" I shot back, with extreme excited energy, making myself wobble as I talked.
"You're flying!" no duh. "HECK YES, I AM."
"Impossible!" Master exclaimed, squinting.
"No, it's not!" exclaimed Tink. "I gave her pixie dust! She can fly!"
"You can fly!!" Jim ogled.
"I CAN FLIPPING FLY!!"
I barely could contain myself any longer; so I got rid of the jitters by taking off in one powerful whoosh,
and soon was circling the T.A.R.D.I.S. a dozen thousand times, me all the while laughing like a complete maniac. Flying was everything that I thought it would be.
I felt absolutely free.
My arms were spread out in the air, the wind blasting me like a giant fan.
And I was grinning so much and so wide, my jaw was starting to hurt.
After closing my eyes and circling the area a bit, I returned to my point of origin and once again hovered in front of Tink and the others.
"Right." I said loudly, getting the ecstatic part out've my system.
"Let's get ready to roll, boys! It's time to lay down the law on these pigs."
"We don't follow the law."
"Must you spoil literally everything??" "Yeah.."
At that moment, Jim jumped behind Tink and shook her frantically by the shoulders.
"MAKE US FLY, HURRY UP!!"
But Tink made him stop instead and gave him a glare that could turn him to stone.
"I only had enough to make her fly. And I'm sorry, but to be perfectly honest, I trust her more than you."
Three out of four of the boys looked rather offended.
"Well, you three won't be able to fly. I know that for a fact. But I know someone who can."
My eyes drifted from them as they stared at me in confusion..and lifted up to the Master.
When he saw that my gaze had landed on him, his eyebrows rose in surprise.
"Me?"
I cocked my head to the side and narrowed my eyes with a playful smile as I now hovered effortlessly in the air. It was almost as if the dust was holding me completely.
"C'mon, blondy..don't tell me you've forgotten already."
At this, he narrowed his own eyes and frowned a little before running his tongue along the inside of his cheek..even despite this look, I knew there was mischief brewing up in that mind of his.
Jim and Joker shot their heads at him; even Bane looked at him, a bit curiously.
"Since when can you fly?!" Joker yelled, hoarsely.
He didn't answer him. He merely stood up straight and stepped towards me.
"Alright then.." He was now grinning, rather sinisterly.
I gestured at the others,
"You three, shoot what you will. Cover us when we need it. Tink, use the orb to watch around the ship and warn the others if there's someone or something they can't see. We'll take care of the rest."
Master came closer until he spread out his arms and held on to the edges of the frame.
I drifted closer to him. "Let's go terrorize some pirates and delinquents."
His expression deepened with a mischievous flair.
As I turned, I felt a burst of adrenaline swell up in me. And then..poof!
I charged straight forward. Glaring back, Master had reared in several feet before running forwards and sending out a blast of energy from both his palms that sent him flying in after me.
I grinned at this and looked back straight ahead.
Time to play.
The look on the faces aboard that ship made me nearly laugh my head off.
There was nothing but pure horror found on their expression.
Hook and Pan, in particular, were stunned.
"NO!" Pan shouted, before gritting his teeth and squeezing his fists quite angrily.
"NO!!!!"
The reason for the anger was quite obvious; I had taken away his chance to fly again.
"Ohhhh, yes, flyboy." I said aloud, even though I didn't expect anyone to hear me.
"It can't be!" exclaimed Hook, the two watching me closely as I circled around the ship, rotating as I went. But it did be. I was in flight and they were not. What I would give to know just how they felt right then.
I gave the crowd below me a huge grin as I guided myself to the opposite side of the T.A.R.D.I.S., across the ship, and I hovered infront of the awed spectators, my body slowly bobbing up and down.
I was hovering high up in the air, above the water, but close enough to the ship for the crew to hear me.
"Hello, boys!"
"You stupid wench!" yelled a random pirate.
F.Y.I., not a nice thing to say to a girl.
"Get down here RIGHT now!" yelled another.
"That's never going to happen.." Pan muttered.
"If you don't, we'll kill every last one of you lot!" cried one of the same pirates.
"I'd like to see ya try!"
And in that moment, a burst of speed and energy swept in and POW!
Master had come down right in the middle of the crowd like a lightning bolt and instantly began shooting out blasts of energy at those still standing, the others scattered around the deck, laying on their backs in pain.
Some of his blasts caused many a pirate to be hit right in the chest and were sent flying to the point where many almost were knocked off the ship.
I confess, I had merely distracted the fiends to give Master a chance to make a proper entrance.
His arrival gave me an advantage to start proving meh skills.
Ceasing my own opportunity, I started flying again, once more circling the ship..I made a point of getting real close to the water and running my hand just along the surface. Something I always saw and wanted to do.
After I giggled, I twirled my body back to the higher air and started drifting right above the deck.
I teased the lot by getting close, enough to make them grab for me, in hopes of catching a Sarah..but I was just out've their reach and they were infuriated at me and my games.
In the corner of my eye, I saw that a pirate had snuck up to the quarterdeck and grabbed a rope; he now flew right for me from higher ground--but fortunately, a shrilling sound vibrated in my ear and in a blink of an eye, the pirate was shot right through the shoulder by a speeding bullet and he sent out a scream of agony before losing his grip and falling right off, hard, back on the deck.
He was lucky. With the momentum he was going, he would've been flung right into the ocean.
And that would've been a whole lot worse for him, with a fresh wound and sharks in the area.
I laughed at the incompetence of these losers before lifting myself back up and circling the ship once more.
I gave the boys a two-fingered salute for the help as I passed, then turned back to tackle some more pirates.
They were growling and spitting and cussing at me, in ways I never heard.
And as they attempted to swarm the Master, I came in, packed with speed and extra muscle, and smacked right into them in one sweep, which sent them hurdling in all directions like bowling pins.
This turned out to be a rather common thing for them to do that night.
Before I went any further with my assault, I scanned the bunch from high above for a weak link..
cuz frankly, I needed a sword.
My eyes fixed on one in particular who had broken away from the crew and was waddling, trying to keep up his baggy, sagging pants, to go and light the fuse back up on a cannon, as if it were some kind of candle.
That was a nope. So with a little giggle of mischief, I swooped right down towards him and with one hand, I smacked the back of his head to disorient him and swiped the torch he held with the other, tossing it into the ocean. Once he was stunned from this, I turned back around and snatched his sword right from his side, and the pudgy little man gasped in horror.
"Thank you! ♥" I called out to him, and chuckled to myself.
I drew out the blade from it's sheath, throwing the useless little thing over my shoulder that no doubt plopped and drifted into the water, and made my way back to help Master, who was once again being swarmed.
This time, I skid to a rough stop against the surface and as I landed with a run, I swiped at the first two opponents I saw, and they fell down, crying out.
Swiping turned into quick combat as I combined my skills with Master's, covering his back when he was busy blasting..and then instinctively ducked when I heard the approaching sound of bullets come from the T.A.R.D.I.S.'s direction..watching as the scum around me fell to the deck, either gravely wounded or dead as doornails. That's how accurate my villainous chaps were.
"Having fun yet?!" I called to Master over all the noise surrounding us.
He grinned and looked back at me, a twinkle in his brown puppy eyes.
"Time of my life!"
I half-laughed at this before my attention zoned in on Hook and Pan, who I almost forgot about, charging towards us with swords raised.
"JUMP!" I yelled at my companion, who shot his head at the ring leaders in time.
Simultaneously, we leapt up into the air, barely missing their swinging blades.
We separated, him going left and me going right, where I transferred to another part of the ship and came in with a crash, knocking them all back several feet.
I got into an immediate scuffle with one, who attempted to steal my sword I rightfully snatched.
That's when another jumped up from behind and snagged me, wrapping his huge powerful arms- that were covered in tats, ew- around my tiny chest and nearly squeezed the life out've me, making it incredibly hard to breathe. So I improvised and gave him what he wanted; which was clearly me.
Before doing so, I tossed the sword over the ship and into the water so it couldn't be used against me, which led to me jumping up and kicking my legs against the guy infront of me's chest, which not only knocked him back, but me and Sir Hugs-A-Lot, as well..and as we did, I flipped myself over him, using his own arms as leverage, until I was completely behind him and I grabbed HIS sword from it's sheath before finally running the brute through. Three others immediately charged in, not giving me enough time to breathe.
So I took the easy way out and waved for the Master--simply by throwing my arm up in the air, and waving it around, not daring to take my eyes off the goobs--and only seconds later, Master swooped in and shot out a single blast of energy, that more than took care of my assailants.
He landed beside me with a scuttle and quickly blasted the other one I had kicked back, who tripped over the edge and fell backward into the water, like a dumbie.
I almost wanted to laugh as he screamed, but that would've been too heartless of me.
Master and I looked back at the deck and stepped towards the edge.
"This will be a great vantage point." Master stated, before instinctively beginning to blast those that were trying to climb up. I looked at the others beyond them, who were growing sick of sword fights and pulling out their guns. "Careful, hon, they're getting out their own firepower."
"Don't worry, gorgeous, I've got it covered."
He then blasted them, ending the threat in seconds. My eyes moved to Hook and Pan.
My jaw tightened, "Leave those two to me..a girl's gotta have her fun."
"Knock yourself out." He dully put, shooting away effortlessly.
My eyes cut at him. "You got things covered, right?"
He took a brief second to wink an okay at me, with a slight grin.
With that, I started to jump up and take off.
"Good luck." I said behind me, before once again taking flight.
Just as I was about to plunge in after the two after a few whirls to get my blood pumping, I gasped loudly and painfully and my hand shot at my head, me nearly dropping my sword.
The pain was returning.
I couldn't help but break away from the fight for a moment, just to let myself cry out and eyes tear up.
"Not now-not now-NOT NOW!"
My head truly picked the worst times to have these problems.
Even with Tink's remedy, it still had not gone away. I squeezed my own head and tightened my face, which only made it hurt even more, finally closing my eyes.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, PLEASE, not now!!"
And with this new misery, a bad thing happened.
I started to fall.
I screamed, caught off guard, as my body instantly dropped down from the air as if I'd been shot, and I began plummeting towards the water.
"AGH! AGH! BE HAPPY! BE COCKY! THINK HAPPY THINGS!! QUICK!!!"
Well..it worked.
Before I could get close to the ocean below, a flood of good memories and happy little things flooded my mind, somehow overtaking the pain, and I lifted back up, my boot skimming the top of the water, as I regained control. "That's it..I've got this..hang in there, Demens..you're almost there.."
After that little pep talk to myself, I guided me back on track and flew to the right, closing in near the T.A.R.D.I.S.. Tink poked her head out the open doorway, as the boys busied themselves shooting rounds at the pirates from beside her.
"Are you alright?!" She exclaimed, obviously seeing that I had been in trouble.
"I'm fine, get back inside!"
She obeyed.
I shook my head at the ache that still lingered and reversed my direction back towards the ship;
from there, I once again plunged in for Hook and Pan, who weren't expecting me, but were instead trying to dodge the boys' bullets. There, I skid to another stop, right in between the two, and wssshhhh, I caught their attention, causing the two to make immediate slashes at me, and we activated a very fast-paced and intense swordfight. I blocked Pan's sword with my own, elbowed Hook in the face, who came in behind me, then brought up my leg and kicked at the boy, but he managed to back away in time.
As Hook went in for a strike, I swung towards him and slashed at his chest, but he blocked it with his blasted hook and pinned my blade between his surprisingly useful attachment and his own sword.
It was too much of a struggle to break free and I could hear Pan start to wobble up, so I drew out my gun and pointed it right at the pirate. In a quick attempt to save his own skin, he let go and sensing what was about to come, I unexpectedly sprung up into the air.
Pan, not ceasing, had charged right into Hook and ran his blade right through the captain's shoulder.
The black-haired chap threw his head back and screamed in pain, and Pan instantly made an 'oh snap' face.
But before he could apologize- like he ever would, though- Hook casted him a serious look of death and kicked the boy back, the sword sliding right out of him, and Peter fell violently on his back.
But what goes around comes around and I was still in the air and still a threat.
So I swirled around and came up behind the pirate, automatically giving him a swift, upside down kick to the back, that sent him hurdling to the ground, right on top of Pan's head; the two made painful 'Oof!' sounds in accordance and I chuckled.
"There, go sit next to your little girlfriend!"
Total joke, but I had to use it.
I moved away from the two idiots, as Pan struggled back to his feet and pointed at me with extreme fury,
"My attraction to you is dwindling by the SECOND!"
Boy, I never heard him so mad.
"Back at chya, adolescent!"
I leapt atop one of the masts- ya know, those beamy things, that was horizontal, kinda- and ran along it in a quick pace. I stole a glance over at the quarterdeck, to check up on the Master, and the Timelord was just swell. He really did look like he was having fun. And what a coincidence, cuz so was I.
I was off again and swirling the area.
As Hook rose up and him and Pan began to gaze after me lividly, the captain now holding on to a bleeding shoulder, I grinned down at them and waved, just to grind their gears.
"C'mon, boys, is that the best ya got?!"
Oh, how I love taunting my foes.
This got at the nerves of their own men rather than them, though, and whew!
Bullets were flying all around me. This happened well before Hook could stop them.
"Hold your fire, HOLD YOUR FIRE!"
"Don't shoot, you idiots!!!! You're hitting the sails!!!"
Indeed, they were.
I spun like a ballerina, avoiding every single one of their primitive bullets, and I was as cocky and chipper as can be..which only infuriated the men more, and they continued firing.
I thought Hook and Pan were gonna pop their own heads from how loud and intensely they were screaming.
In that instant, Hook had moved away and I kept track of him amidst the crew..as I looked away for only a second, I heard a shout, then a thud, a very loud and painful thud, and as a brief three-second flash occurred in the corner of my eye, I shot my gaze back at his direction and saw that he had taken a lot of men down with him, and was staring at the corner of the deck in absolute shock.
I had no idea what had occurred or why he was staring so intensely at nothing, but that didn't much matter.
Cuz just as I was looking back, a bullet blazed past just half an inch from my ear and I jolted in mid-air, body completely frozen. Why that took me by surprise, I do not know.
Thankfully, the fiend was soon taken care of by one of my boys.
Cuz no sooner had he fired than a flurry of screams had ensued, as a flurry of bullets began blazing straight at the pirates' direction. They immediately dropped their weapons and dropped to the deck's polished floor, covering their heads like a nuclear bomb was about to go off.
I swung around, unconcerned of the bullets touching me and saw that my rescuer of sorts was Bane, who had equipped himself to a chain-fed machine gun and was steady firing, shells popping in every direction down into the ocean floor, orange strobes flashing in his masked face at every gunshot.
Beside him was Moriarty and Joker, who were steady shooting rebel scalawags that refused to hit the deck...lol
Ahhh, teamwork. 'Twas beautiful.
No longer concerned with the rest of the sea wretches, I rotated my body around to find someone to go after. In a matter of mere minutes, I did. The very same pirate that held Tink at knife-point.
He cowered in a corner, face caked in fear and crying bitter, horrified tears at the madness they brought on themselves. He was seemingly wounded, but all the same had his hand wrapped around his pistol, finger set on the trigger. If the bullets weren't flying, he'd be trying to shoot me. So feeling of sympathy? Denied!
I decided to put the lout out of his misery.
With a mere push, I guided myself down his way, seeing as how everyone else was too distracted.
His eyes immediately shot up at me and his horror was replaced with rage and sure enough, he aimed his gun to shoot me. I smirked, "Awww, did you want out've the fight?"
He only had one shot and the dumbo missed me, by like, ten feet.
I didn't even have to dodge- and because of this, I got a good charge packed up in me and with one hand and a single swoop, I snatched him by the leg and carried him, rather barely, off the ship.
Once I was about fifteen feet from it, I snickered.
"Here you go!!" and I dropped him right over the water.
He shrieked like a wailing child as he fell upside down, and landed with a loud crash into the blackened abyss. "Buh-bye!" I called, waving sweetly.
I swung around and returned towards the ship as Bane ran out of bullets to fire and the pirates stood back up. I needed to work out my next move. There were still far too many sea rats to take care of before I could properly handle Pan and Hook--really, all I needed was Hook. I didn't have the heart to kill either of them, to be honest. As I might have mentioned, I don't just kill things.
Only when I need to. There was hope yet that I actually could recruit the two..given a future chance.
I definitely didn't need any more enemies.
I listened and watched as Hook emerged from the panicked crowd, still holding his bleeding shoulder, the substance sliding down his shiny black leather jacket and trickling onto the deck.
"File up, you fools! To your positions! Back to the cannons!"
They instantly all snickered my way with greedy eyes, some licking their teeth grossly, and then scrambled to get the things ready. But this didn't worry me. Not by a long shot.
All their other attempts to kill me thus far had failed. It was almost as if I couldn't be touched.
"Oooohhh, cannons! Sounds fun!"
My voice was rather creepy and sadistic now, as if I were begging for the pain and the challenge.
"BRING YO' CANNONS!"
I shouted as I passed over them and they sneered.
"Demens!!"
My eyes shot to where Master used to be. Used to be.
He was no longer at the quarterdeck and this worried me for two seconds until I heard another sharp,
"DEMENS!" and my eyes automatically lifted to the top of the fore-topmast.
There, standing on a horizontal beam, clashing with the ropes and giant fluttering sail was my Timelord companion, whom was holding onto what he could, while looking down at me.
I circled my way around and floated up the yellowing sheet until I reached the beam he stood on and I landed on the solid object, facing him. "What's wrong??"
"I'm running out of energy." He huffed, his facing looking tired.
I realized now he wasn't holding on to keep balance. He was holding on to keep from collapsing in exhaustion. Seeing this, I took hold of one of his arms. He didn't resist.
"Literally, I'm running out of steam. I can't do this for much longer. And..I'm..hungry.."
His eyes lifted up to my face and I suddenly got the sickening impression that he was thinking about eating me. And that's when I realized...he just might.
His former endless craving for food that he had stated was gone might just have returned, and it was possibly my fault. "Master.." I said, softly.
I was worrying now that he could be a potential threat..as if he wasn't already.
"Go back to the T.A.R.D.I.S.. I've got things covered from here."
"No." He tried to argue, forcefully. But it came out too weak.
"Don't worry. I'm almost done." "But Hook...and Pan..."
"Let me have my fun with them, child..go."
He lowered his brows at me for calling him a child, gradually looking more and more tired.
He didn't move. I got in a little behind him and whispered to him, encouragingly.
"Just go, Master. You helped me plenty. Time to rest, my dear Timelad."
His eyes drifted to mine and his expression softened.
and dear god, the man was beautiful.
If I was a dating girl, I swear, jdhhejhejhjhe
sorry, human hormones, bleh
I gave him a pat on the back and said another, "GO", now sounding like a frustrated mother.
At last, he obeyed. He surged up enough energy inside him to pack into his knees, then with one, powerful sprint, he shot into the air, flying forwards and miraculously made it right at the doorway, the boys making room for him, and he stumbled and disappeared inside.
I was half way on my own now.
Time to work some magic.
My eyes darkly rolled from the T.A.R.D.I.S. to the fiends below, as I realized what they were doing.
Pan was thinking it funny to have the cannons positioned to fire right back at my ship, grinning up at me in premature triumph. yeah, that wasn't happening.
Regaining my confidence, I jumped and took flight.
There, I swooped down and like a mature individual, pulled on Hook and Pan's hair and slapped the back of their heads in a back-and-forth teasing match.
IDK for sure, but I was getting the strong feeling that they possibly hated me.
Hook, in particular, was cursing his head off at me, shaking his fist.
"Shoot her, for god's sake, SHOOT HER!!"
Just as they tried to pull out their weapons, I pointed at the crew as I passed over them for the umpteenth time, and did so again. "Do half of you lot even know who I am?"
Many shook their heads, many stared or looked around in silence--others yelled out insults or called me names, citing that they didn't care.
I simply rested a bit on a beam, clicked my tongue and waggled my finger at them.
"No no..I'm the Character Queen, mates. Meaning, I rightfully rule over you. And if you don't listen?.."
I paused a minute, glanced to the side, stuck out my sword and did an obvious indication,
"Let's just say, you walk the plank."
This got the uncertain half scared straight--the other half furious.
And many backed clear away from the cannons.
Despite Hook spitting threats at them, they refused up and down to partake in turning against me.
"No cap'n, she'll kill us all! We mustn't upset a queen!!"
And he let go of them as they hurried to the other side of the deck to cower.
That's where Pan stepped up and called his boys by whistling with his index finger and thumb.
Like droids that were standing around, waiting on an order, they were immediately by his side.
"You won't fight? Fine."
He pointed straight at the defying crew members, cocking his head back at the boys.
"Kill them."
My brows rose at this turn...oh my..
And the crew members suddenly found themselves in a scuffle with the approaching bunch of dangerous teenagers (lol, like there's any other teenager) and this got the entire deck in an uproar, especially when Hook tried to attack Pan for ordering such a thing.
I slowly started to smirk, raising a brow. Not quite what I was expecting, but okay.
At once, I leapt back up and flew straight off, snickering at the chaos I had started, until I looked up and suddenly gasped when a lone pirate erupted from inside the crow's nest and sliced his sword at my throat and I yelped, ducking away by inches, as my neck was in danger of being slid right through.
The idea of losing my head caused me a great deal of stress and I was soon falling down to the chaotic deck, where dozens of pirates and Lost Boys battled.
And thud.
I landed hard onto the wood and winced in extreme pain, my arms twisting underneath me awkwardly.
Miraculously, everyone was too busy fighting to notice me, or anything for that matter.
But I wasn't too busy to notice something else.
I cut my eyes toward the T.A.R.D.I.S. and saw that Joker was returning to the doorway, a large rocket launcher balanced against his shoulder.
Bazooka-shooting Joker returns!
I painfully lifted my head and chest up just to watch what he'd do.
And in that instant, when the others had cleared the way and he brought it close to his head and squinted a black eye as he aimed, I knew. He was gonna fire.
I got the heck out've there; I crawled towards a door and stood up straight up- apparently misjudging my own injuries, huh..could've sworn I was in worse shape- and regaining my cockiness, I burst up, very fortunate that no pirates had seen me..and just as I had taken off, Joker fired the rocket right towards the ship. Mere seconds later, it whirled well over everyone's heads and the crow's nest was blown to smithereens; the neck-slashing pirate along with it.
The chaos caused the crowd below to duck and jolt and stare in shock between the crime scene and the Joker. The man only cackled wildly, holding the bazooka down, his face caked in insane laughter.
I heard him all the way from over there-- hearing him laugh only made me laugh.
And soon, I was cackling pretty evilly as well, as if it were contagious.
They were right, whoever was gonna say it.
I was spending too much time with dem villains. ;P
I used to not even do a good job at the evil laugh, but behind the scenes, as you might've guessed, the villains sort've taught me. I mean, think Bubbles when she was trying to prove she was hardcore...
well....in the end, though, she pretty much did prove to everyone that she was, and kind've showed her sisters up, so.....yeah....my laugh was pretty bad, though. it sort've hurt.
Just when I thought he was done, Joker pulled out another.
And with widened expressions, the crowd panicked and a single click and pull of a trigger later, the clown launched the rocket; this time at the actual ship.
The impact blew half the side of the vessel.
The cowardly sorts all screamed like babies and flung themselves off the other side, as shards of wood and their own supplies below exploded into the air and rained down upon them.
Even the railing had collapsed, along with several of the cannons, and fell into the ocean, sinking only to be lost forever. I wanted to applaud but instead only spun around mid-flight and laughed some more.
"Take that, you morons! Serves you right for messin' with my friends!"
Hook and Pan were horrified and instead of turning on me, they turned on eachother, and abruptly broke out into a swordfight. Their numbers had depleted far too much and chances of success were rather bleak.
Now all they had left was to fight.
While this happened, I flew back to my peeps, high-fiving Joker as I passed, and hovered in between them and the pirate ship, staring back at the scene.
The damage J caused with the rocket was even more severe than I thought, staring straight at it.
Tink had poked herself through, pushing back the boys.
"Sarah!"
I could barely hear her voice, however, amongst all the noise.
I turned my head at her, "What?!"
Her next words were jumbled.
My brows lowered and I squinted.
"Exercising hurts when you slouch?!" or crouch??
She spoke again, but she only spoke gibberish, as if she were gargling the marbles I was after.
"How'd I turn into a grouch?? How dare!"
She screamed it this time, but still managed to be inaudible.
"I need to get off the couch?!"
"My face looks like a mouse?!"
"I need to change my blouse?! Tink, I swear, I'm not afraid to beat up a girl!"
ya know, cuz I am one...
She facepalmed so hard, I could feel the sting it probably caused.
She obviously had given up.
"Speak UP, child!!"
Her face lifted and with extreme intensity, she screamed out the thing.
My head merely turned.
"I need to kiss them on the mouth?? ew. I don't wanna kiss ANY of them on the mouth, PERIOD!"
She then yelled in squeally frustration.
"Yeah yeah yeah, I need to get the pouch, I heard ya, just teasing--way ahead o' ya, sister!"
With that, I started back. The final trip to the deck.
I had to settle this now.
Two seconds later, I returned to above Pan and Hook, whom were both vigorously coming at one another.
I grinned a bit as I saw them and then with a charge, I came down in a rush.
And smack! to the back of Hook's head.
He flinched and held the assaulted area with a pained face and then smack! to Pan's.
The two growled and swiped at me as I got closer, but naturally failed.
I pulled on their hair, and tugged on their clothes, then noogied their scalps and twirled them around and all they could do was yell at me and wave their blades pointlessly around.
When I up and yanked on Hook's hook, leaving him staggering, Pan spotted something he wanted from the pirate's side,,,and he snatched it.
Just as he did, however, Hook snapped into action and grabbed the top of it and the two were suddenly in a violent tug of war. I needed to seize my opportunity before the goobs spilled out all the contents.
So, with one final sweeping motion, in one final drop to the deck, I reached out my hand and whisked the pouch away right from their grasp and the two screamed bloody murder, clawing after me.
But they were too late.
I was already up in the air, fiddling with the pouch. I tipped it over my palm and a single marble fell out onto my hand. With a couple of fingers, I held one up to the light.
"Oooooooooh, what are these for?"
"Give 'em back! They're MINE!" Pan sneered, desperately.
"Not anymore." I answered, flatly, admiring the mystical little objects.
"Please, give them back!!" Hook exclaimed.
Felix came behind them and I heard a pistol cock into action.
He had stolen a gun.
My eyes cut at him, grimly,
"ah ah...if you shoot me, I throw these in the ocean, and none of us will see 'em again."
Pan and Hook pivoted at once, quicker than I thought they would.
"DON'T!" "She'll do it!"
Felix jolted and stared, perplexed, then slowly lowered the weapon.
I looked back, "These look fun. I think I'll keep 'em."
"NO! GIVE 'EM BACK!"
"Too late. I've already gotten quite attached."
"PLEASE! We need them!"
"You should have thought of that before trying to sell me off to God knows who. And Tink- your only possible friend- on top of that. All jokes aside, you're both disgusting and I'm not a single amount of sorry for anything that happened tonight. You all deserved it....now...this was fun..but I'll be off now."
"STOP IT! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THOSE ARE!"
"And neither do you!"
I pocketed the marbles into my...well, pocket, and lifted my hands up.
My next sentence was teeming with sarcasm and said with a wild-eyed expression,
"I'll be sure to let you know when I find out!"
I wiggled my fingers g'bye.
"You wouldn't dare!!" Pan taunted.
I merely shot him an 'O rly' look and with that final gesture, I winked, smirked, and took off.
"NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"
I looked back as Pan turned to Hook and let out the rage that had been building inside of him.
"This is all your FAULT! They'll find out what happened here...and I'm not taking the blame for it!!"
And my heart skipped a beat as Pan brought up his leg and rather violently kicked the pirate square in the chest. The captain shouted as he was knocking straight through the railing and he tumbled backwards, into the water. That was dark and cold, even for Pan.
I seriously doubted the two would be rekindling their alliance after that..especially when Hook was probably already turning into a dead man.
He had a fresh wound..sharks were everywhere in the water..you do the math.
I would've gone back to save him, but something told me not to.
So I didn't.
Instead, I returned to the doorway. Grabbing onto both sides as I swung around, my companions backing up to let me in, I looked back at the pathetic and defeated-looking Pan, who steadily ground his teeth, and I blew him a mocking kiss, waving immediately afterwards.
"Next time!" I recited loud enough for him to hear..the last words spoken in Neverland by our party.
I instantly closed the doors, backed away, and the T.A.R.D.I.S. disappeared from the world, for the last time...well....for now.
jkjkdkwhjkhjkhjkhkmn765ghsdna,ka8998kvms. . l/ . .
elsewhere, the captain fell into the water.
his blood began to leak into the liquid around him.
the sharks nearby swam contently at first, but at the fresh smell of blood now in their senses, they snapped their heads in his direction and started to charge.
he panicked.
desperately, he searched his pocket . . and there, he pulled out a marble.
a marble he saved from his stolen pouch.
and with a single flick of the wrist, he threw it at a rock.
the marble instantly exploded into something much bigger.
a giant flash occurred.
the same flash he saw aboard his ship when a marble knocked out of his hand and hit against the corner.
seeing the sharks coming, he edged closer to it with three powerful kicks.
until he barely made it inside what the marble had created.
and in that very instant, the flash of light closed on itself.
the captain had disappeared.
My eyes gravitated to my legs and I saw the truth;
golden sparkly dust showered mildly from the bottoms of my boots.
She obeyed.
I shook my head at the ache that still lingered and reversed my direction back towards the ship;
from there, I once again plunged in for Hook and Pan, who weren't expecting me, but were instead trying to dodge the boys' bullets.
I instantly closed the doors, backed away, and the T.A.R.D.I.S. disappeared from the world, for the last time...well....for now.

elsewhere, the captain fell into the water.
his blood began to leak into the liquid around him.
the sharks nearby swam contently at first, but at the fresh smell of blood now in their senses, they snapped their heads in his direction and started to charge.
he panicked.
desperately, he searched his pocket . . and there, he pulled out a marble.
a marble he saved from his stolen pouch.
and with a single flick of the wrist, he threw it at a rock.
the marble instantly exploded into something much bigger.
a giant flash occurred.
the same flash he saw aboard his ship when a marble knocked out of his hand and hit against the corner.
seeing the sharks coming, he edged closer to it with three powerful kicks.
until he barely made it inside what the marble had created.
and in that very instant, the flash of light closed on itself.
the captain had disappeared.
"'It can't be!' exclaimed Hook" "But it did be."
ReplyDeleteI laughed when you almost wanted to laugh at the screaming pirate, it was just too funny to be sober about.
Alright, to the point! This chapter was superbly thought out and put together, most likely the best chapter I have read so far. It kept me interested and intrigued the entire time and the character development is perfect. And you know we're all waiting for Saster, and we get to see a bit of that here. I loved this part, keep up the excellent work!
P.S. The whole Bazooka-Joker thing was the highlight of the chapter! I could see his face and hear his voice as if it were actually a part of the movies! Great job.
OMYGOSH OMYGOSH OMYGOSH. BEST CHAPTER YET. I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THAT. YOU ARE SOOO GOOD AT WRITING!!!! I SIMPLY LOVE HOW YOU AND THE MASTER FOUGHT SIDE BY SIDE LIKE THAT. EEEEEEEE!!!
