Night time lingered on the island, the sky growing darker and more haunting, the moon casting an even brighter, perturbing light.

Away from the queen and her companions, the young boy had taken the fairy to a shore, where a single worn wooden boat rested atop the sand, awaiting them.
The boys' lackeys stood around it, having waited for their leader to arrive.

As he and the fairy approached, he bobbed his head at them; on cue, they turned to the boat and proceeded to shove it towards the water, soon trotting along with it as it slid the rest of the way.

The boy took the fairy by the arm and yanked her as he went straight, but she only cemented herself in her position and caused him to jerk his body to a halt. He predominantly turned to her and looked at her in a candid manner as he awaited an explanation.

"Where are you taking me, Peter?"
Her facade was teetering between rash defiance and tentative fear.

Peter turned his whole body to her and lightly smirked, taking a few short steps toward her.

"Don't worry, Tink. You're my only hope for ever flying again. I promise, you'll be well  taken care of."

Without further word, he snatched her arm once more and scudded the rest of the way to the boat.
The two climbed inside.

Peter Pan was steadily rowing the boat with minor ease and precision across the blackened surface of Neverland ocean, it's craggy waves chopping and swaying calmly as it quietly roared against itself from the distance around the two.

Both Peter and Tinker Bell were silent as Pan etched the boat closer and closer to Captain Hook's ship.
All the boy did was fix his gaze on her, causing her eyes to drift to the floor boards of their small meager vessel.

Only minutes had passed before they finally arrived.

As Peter secured the oars, two men jumped down from the side of the ship to assist him in tying his boat to their own.

When it was done, Peter turned sideways to his former fairy companion and offered his hand for her to take it. She reluctantly accepted.

The four had climbed the ladder to the top, where Captain Hook and his men awaited them on the deck, that was strongly illuminated by golden lights mounted on the corners.

At the sight of his two clearly expected guests, Hook guffawed and shot out his arms, presentably, his crew roaring in their own laughter, as if they were his audience.

"Ah!! Peter Pan! The one and only. ."

Peter approached him, giving him a leering half-smile, with Tinker Bell standing right next to him.

As soon as the pirate's eyes laid on the light-haired beauty, Hook came close to her.

"And the ever lovely and elusive Tinker Bell. . ."

He took her hand, elevating it upto his lips and gave it a single kiss.
But she was far from charmed . . not even when he fixed his bright blue eyes on her with an intense level of seduction. They nearly glowed in the light of the ship.

"Always a pleasure to be graced with your presence."
He spoke more softly.

Her own gaze, however, was one of stern resistance.
His charms, it seemed, failed to successfully woo her into submission.

"Enough games. I want to know what I'm doing here."

Sedately, Hook retracted himself from Tinker Bell, his eyes gravitating to Pan, suspiciously, until he had let go of the fairy's arm all together.

"You haven't told her. ."

Pan merely shrugged his shoulders, letting his eyes move to the fairy with a complacent and secretive attitude.

"I thought I'd let it be a surprise."
Tinker Bell swished her head at him at these words, sensing that something odious was being kept from her.

"What??"

But neither Hook nor Pan answered her.
For in just a short pocket of time, a noise as if that of a vortex occurred behind them.
Everyone on the ship swiveled around to see the source of the commotion.

Beyond them now stood a young man, dressed in a black cloak.
He was still for only a minute before he began to approach the pirate, boy and fairy, in a calm, steady manner. Once he came within five feet of the captain, he halted.

Hook narrowed his eyes at him, darkly.
"What is this?? We were promised the arrival of Maleficent."

"Lady Maleficent. ." The young man's hood lifted from being pointed at the deck, and the three could now see his pale, emotionless face.
". .is unable to make your acquaintance, due to the queen's presence on this world. . it's too much of a danger to her own safety."

"Not even for a minute?"
Pan inquired behind the pirate.

The cloaked young man turned his dead gaze on him and solemnly shook his head.

"Well, never mind her. ."
Hook moved on.
"She promised me something. Something to help me get to other worlds."

"Yes, of course. ."

"Promised us  something."
Pan corrected.

The young cloaked one, however, snapped his unsettling gaze back on him.
"Unfortunately, the captain is the only one to receive this gift."

Peter's face fell in both bafflement and incense.
"What?!"

The young man chose to ignore him and turned his head back to the pirate.

"Behold. ."
He revealed an arm through his cloak, extending it towards Hook in a hauntingly surreal motion.

Within a clutched hand, he held a small brown leather pouch.

Hook reached in and took it.

"Handle it with extreme caution. ."

The captain quickly cut his eyes at him, then back at the pouch.
He loosened the top and hurriedly poured a few of it's contents into his open palm.

When he saw what they were, he poured more and gradually gained a look of perplexity.

Small glass marbles, by the look of them, that were each a different color.
Within the heart of them glowed an intensely brightened shade of the same hue.

"I. . I don't understand. ."
Hook's eyes desperately returned to the young man.
". . . What are these??"

The young cloaked man only smiled and leisurely backed towards the way he came.

"You'll see soon enough."

Within only a few seconds, the young man turned and entered a bright cyan portal that gusted a continuous rush of intense wind outwards at everything but him.

Once he had passed, the portal disappeared.

Leaving Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tinker Bell and the pirate crew alone, with a mysterious pouch of marbles carefully held within the captain's grasp.
