Five -Pt. 10-

Chapter 5 in which a final battle is fought...

One can not possibly imagine the immense, intense, incredibly terrifying, paralyzing, ridiculous, disgusting, nauseating, never-ending, dreadful, polderdacky urge I had to throw up.
I WAS IN A FICTIONAL WORLD, WITH FICTIONAL HEROES, FICTIONAL VILLAINS, A FICTIONAL SPACESHIP, WITH FICTIONAL FEELINGS, ABOUT TO BE FICTIONALLY ATTACKED BY FICTIONAL FICTION ORCS.
I HAD HAD IT.

Yet I still couldn't move.

As soon as those Orcs came into view, I was frozen like frozen yogurt. No fair, Captain Hook!
He was way, way too early, dat pesky Azog.

The nearest of my wide-eyed villains happened to be the Master, so as soon as I snapped out've my trance, I sought cover. I quickly ran behind him.
"I'M SORRY, WITH THE DEEPEST SORROW AND GUILT FELT BY MAN, FOR PUNCHING YOU--NOW SHIELD ME."
I hid behind him not as a coward, but as one who needed a second to prepare and see things through.
As soon as I was covered, Master glancing behind him and spurting out random inaudible things to me, I began to pull out every weapon I had attached to me.
It needed to be done. These Orcs ain't got no souls.
They'll kill you without a second's hesitation.
.......well, my plan was disappointing me.
"I need a GUN!" I exclaimed, eyeing my sword with hatred.
"Heal my face and perhaps I'll give you one."
Master wheezed, still holding his nose.

I gave my fingertips a quick smooch, then reached behind me towards his head and tapped over his nose-holding manly hand. "There, you've got the Queen's kiss. Now lead me up, son!"
"Apologies, I don't give guns to minors."
"YOU"
I wasn't even a minor!

Suddenly hearing a hoarse shrill, the others and I got worried and so turned our heads, to face the source of the unearthly scream.
The commotion was just as we feared. Azog and Bolg had now leapt from their rocks.
Sword in hand, they charged forward across the field, their mini Orc posse following right behind.
"SON OF A MONGOOSE." I shrilled.
"THEY'RE COMING, THEY'RE COMING, THEY'RE COMING."
"We have eyes of which we can see with!"
Joker, the sass master.

"Take up arms!" Yelled the wizard.
Everyone except my villainous companions, and Alfrid, ran and formed a wall--even Thranduil, with his war moose--where they all proceeded to pull out their weapons at the incoming Orc posse.
The dwarves let out an aggressive battle-cry, of which I could feel Thranduil's eyes roll quite strongly.
I, myself, could see that this wasn't gonna end well.
Even taking up arms, we were not prepared for the Orcs.
Especially the head-on collision that was sure to take place.
Nah, bro, the whole reason of me being there was to save them. This plan was gonna need to change.

The Orcs still being a good distance away, I let my mind have it's moment to scan the area. Far off across the field, rested the remaining city of Dale. The city itself was attacked and ruined by Smaug years before, the city's inhabitants later becoming the people of Lake Town.
If we could travel via the T.A.R.D.I.S. to the city, we could use it as a type of fortress to hide within and wait for Azog, for a more table - turning attack.
Once I decided this to be a good enough plan, I nodded my head. Now to convince the others.

Skipping ahead before my heart could make another beat, I charged towards the T.A.R.D.I.S..
"Where are you going?!?!"
I heard behind me.
I pointed with an unstable arm, "To the T.A.R.D.I.S.! All of you, follow! We'll take 'em on in Dale!"
"Dale??" Tauriel questioned.
"The city of Dale." Gandalf uttered.
I looked behind me to see that all heads had turned to the city itself. They were catching on, thank goodness.
"Hurry!!"
(Did I forget to mention that it had went from night time to day time in the very brief time we were in that field? Time here was getting wacky. Or maybe it was just me being an outsider to the fictional realm. Cuz no one else, besides my companions, seemed to notice.)

"Come on!!!"
They instantly scrambled.
"Demens-" one of the villains tried.
"I know, I know--but there's no time for secrecy, they're bound to find out we're weird soon, anyway."
I reached the ship and threw the door open, the boys rushing past me like the wind.
"Are you mad?!" Bard exclaimed. "We won't all fi--"
His voice cut off as his eyes popped out, upon entering the outlandish ship.
The others soon followed, gasping and screaming, one by one gazing in wonder.
This was too much of a delay.

"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, shut the door, shut the door, hurry!!"
This grabbed Alfrid's attention, who immediately skidded and slammed the door closed, rushing back to clutch onto the wall afterwards.
Thranduil clumped gracefully far into the ship with his enormous moose, looking all around him with an expression that screamed witchery. Even his trusty steed looked to be in awe.
"Careful with you and your moose!" I yelled, amidst running about.
I shoved Jim aside, who you might recall had retreated to the T.A.R.D.I.S. like the coward he is, and had been in hiding before the lot of us stormed in.
He did not approve of our presence at all.

Thranduil took quick notice of my exclamation and swung his head at me.
"You peasant girl! It is not a moose! It is an elk. A most graceful and majestic creature of nature."
I didn't even pay attention. "...take your moose over there."
He gave me such a hateful glare.

"Master!" I squealed, at this point running in circles.
I tried with all my might to ignore his bloody nose.
"Pilot this thing, we've gotta jet!!" "To where?!"
"To the CITY, you doodlywad, don't you ever listen?!"
I slammed my fist against the mini-monitor that was conveniently refusing to work.
It lit up with life.
The Orcs were coming straight for the T.A.R.D.I.S.
"FOR THE LOVE OF ACORNS, HURRY, DARN IT."
Master complied and ran for the controls and began his alien magic.
"Everyone be ready to get out!"
"Get ready? But...miss Sarah!"
"Just get ready."
My eyes moved to Jim, who had moved away from the group and was sneaking a gun down his pants.
Joker and Bane had already positioned themselves at the door, ready to storm out.
Idk, I think they were just desperate to kill something.

I then turned my head to the door as I hurried next to them.
"...You sure you're ready for this, kid?" Joker glared.
There was doubt in his tone. I tensed my shoulders.
"...If I can survive tackling you and punching the Master in the face..I think I'll be fine."
He smirked. Of course..he was always smiling.
He was always happy. Even when wanting to kill you.
He worried me..a lot.
The Orcs were about to find out first hand just why.

And then there was Bane, who was all too used to walking into battle. He was a mercenary. If you saw the Dark Knight Rises, you will know that Bane should be feared just as much as the Joker. Both of them were deadly in their own special way. Jim and Master, though..well..I wouldn't call them warriors.
We'll leave it at that.

"What are you lot even doing?" Jim questioned at the two. "This isn't your fight!"
"If Demens dies on her own, what good would she be to us then?" Master shot back.
Jim cut his eyes at him, distastefully.
"Yeah, don't have to get all Gladiator or anything..just slice a few throats, snap a few necks, run some blades through a couple of hearts, and we'll be just dandy."
Joker grinned, "And even with a little life left in her, we should be fine."
Gee. I felt so inspired. They know just what to say to a girl.

"But your ship.." Ori was still looking around, wondrously.
"It is larger inside!" I looked down at him, "Ya don't say?"
He was too distracted to notice my subtle judgment.
"We're here!" I heard the Master call, just as the ship wobbled. I sucked in a breath, "Ok, guys, get ready!"
The company scrambled behind me, once again drawing their weapons. "Oh my goodness..." Balin uttered, trying to keep his balance. "You really are a queen...this ship is quite the vessel!"
"Pay attention!" Gandalf snapped.
He stood close to the door, holding his staff tightly.
"Azog will be coming after us. We need to set up a trap from within the city."
"And that's why you get to wear a pointy hat. You've got the sense!"
Yes...yes, I did avoid "he's got a point" like the plague....I probably would've been killed.

We landed with a jolt.
I got even closer to the door.
Without any further actual words, I shrugged my shoulders.
"1..." They shifted behind me. I sucked up a breath.
"2..." And then I swallowed it.
"3!!"
At once, the doors were thrown open and I ran full speed ahead.
Blind were we that flew from that ship, hearts pumping, adrenaline rushing, many of us scattering in every which way, some knocking into quite a few obstacles.
The dwarves, especially, were the clumsiest.

I didn't bother to see who was following behind me.
Only to see what was above me.
Particularly what I could climb to get to higher ground.
I leapt up a small wall and climbed to the top.
Good thing I'm a rougher gal and can climb a thing like a champ without making squeally noises or whine my concern for my nails.
Cuz it was a climb. I scraped myself pretty good already, and this wasn't doing me any more justice.
Slightly out of breath by the time I reached the top, I struggled up, running in a stumble to the view that gave a clear image of the field.
As I knew he would, Azog had changed course and was heading where the T.A.R.D.I.S. had gone, which meant he was charging towards the city, in full force.
My heart still pounded at the sight.
"Do you see them?! Are they coming?!"
I looked down to see Bofur, Fili, Kili and Ori looking up at me in as much patience as they could.
"Ohhh yeah, they're coming."
I proceeded to climg back down. "And they don't look very happy."

"Which way?! Where are they headed, which entrance?!"
I glared over at Thorin, who had suddenly appeared from no where. I pointed behind him, "That way."
Thorin was accompanied by Bard, who looked behind them in a haste, his mouth partially hanging open.
"That's the northern entrance."
"How much time do you think we have to prepare?"
Bard looked to Bofur, worriedly. "Not much time at all."
"Well then," I went on. "I think my plan will work, then."
All eyes turned to me, with inevitable curiosity.
Thorin did nothing but glance at the others for a good long minute. "....What plan?"
....I slowly grinned.
- - -
Azog's men stormed right behind him as the Pale Orc and his son had arrived at the northern entrance.
They were loud, ugly, fuming with anger, and ready to kill.
But as they entered, Azog seemed to..well..appear rather cautious. This became more evident when he abruptly halted, throwing his fist up for the others to do the same, letting out a single "STOP!"
They instantly ceased.
He looked around him, his eyes slowly surveying every inch of the place.
Almost as if he knew exactly what was up.
Bolg turned to his father in impatience-
"Why are we halting? Let us crush the human and dwarf scum!"
"Silence." Azog snapped, as he stepped forward, not giving him a glance.
The place appeared to be deserted.
He was right to be weary.
He knew we were there....but at the same time..we weren't.
He lifted his head up, sniffing the air..all fell completely silent.

I smirked as I watched from above. Couldn't let that continue for long. Before I had time to second-guess myself, I leapt from my hiding place and jumped up on a ledge, hastily putting a hand on my hip as I leaned my side against a support beam of sorts.
"Hiya, boys!"
All heads snapped in my direction and instantaneous snarling and shouting ensued.
"A bit late to the party, are we? Rather rude of you. Tea's gone cold and I'm afraid 3/4th of the guests have already departed." I shrugged my shoulders, tilting my head to the side. I was feeling oh so cool.
"So quite unfortunately, I'm gonna have to cancel your membership to this little club."
Azog, in a fit of rage that was directed to my sass and disrespect, lunged right in my direction, intending to climb up to get me.
"What, you mad?!"
Gee, I really know what to say to get a villain going.
Cuz he was absolutely furious with me.
"..oh well.." I smirked. "Shouldn't have been late."

Like that, one of the elves popped up behind me and owwwccchhhhh, horn to the ear.
This sound quickly carried out across the city, echoing all through the ruined buildings.
Suddenly, dwarves, elves and Bard alike all jumped out from their hiding places and in a flash of battle cries, weapons drawn, came head-on into a collision course with the stunned Orcs and they all squealed like pigs as they were trampled upon. The ambush was a success.

Azog snarled at the sight and swung back to me.
I busted out laughing maniacally, throwing my arms up in a taunting manner. I then jumped backwards, intending to be graceful but I probably wasn't, speeding away down the walkway. As I glanced back, I caught sight of him following my direction from below. Bolg was not far from his daddy.
I grinned at their predictability and looked back.

With one leap, I changed course and started across the small bridge leading to the other side and as I passed, I saw from the corner of my eye that Azog had jumped up and swiped for my leg, missing only by inches. As I got away, I heard him roar furiously after me.

After turning to my left, I looked ahead and saw that Jim was poking his head out from the T.A.R.D.I.S. door.
"Ya know, you really should come out, it's a lot of fun!"
"No, thank you. Not my area."
He quickly shut the door just as I passed and I picked up my speed as I continued down the path.
I caught a glimpse of Tauriel standing ahead, watching below, with her blades drawn.

"What's up, chicka?!"
"They are breaking away from the others...they are joining back with their master!"
I laughed, just as she started to run alongside me.
I shot my head back at where the Pale Orc and his son were last seen. "Perfect! Now I can take 'em on!"
"I'm sorry..what?!" She yelled. "You can not face him alone!"
"Watch me!" "Sarah, please don't!"
But just at that moment- SLAM!

I was hurdled sideways, smack dab into the stone wall to my left and I collided with it violently, dropping to the ground with a thud. "Sarah!!"
I heard Tauriel shout, which her voice then reacted in pain.
I groaned and struggled up..as my eyes opened, my vision began to blur. My ears were deafened and everything started to occur in slow-mo. The only sound I was capable of hearing was the strong, pounding banging of my own heart beat, which resembled that of an enormous drum.
And of course, the obnoxious, equally loud ringing in my ear, that reminded me of a siren.
Indicating that something was darn sure wrong.

I thrashed my head as I struggled to my feet, squeezing my eyes shut. C'mon, c'mon...sober up, darn you.
That's when I heard faint Orc squeals and exaggerated chopping sounds. I widened my eyes back open as I tried to focus on something. That's when a hand slapped my back and shook me back to reality.
In a flash, everything was normal again.
"Sarah! Sarah! Miss Sarah! C'mon!"
To my surprise, when I looked up, it was Alfrid who had done the thing.
He was looking overwhelmingly terrified.
"I know the feelin', bat'le's killin' us all, but pull et t'gether, ma'am.....and please, if you 'ave any mercy, let m' into yo'r ship! I ain't a warrior!"
I stood up straight again, using Alfrid's shoulder as my leverage, and I shook my head as I held it, groaning in pain.
"Please, ma'am, please!! I beg o' you!!"

I ignored him and looked to see where Tauriel was.
There were dying or dead Orcs on the ground, but sadly, there was no she-elf in sight.
I gasped and lunged to the edge. Looking all around, it became clear..Tauriel wasn't there.
Then I remembered something important..
I looked to my right, down below, where my eyes should have met with the approaching Azog and his little Orc lackeys.
My heart ceased for a second.
Unfortunately, they we're gone. I had no idea where the Defiler and his son was.
And that didn't comfort me.

"Alfrid, stay behind me!"
"WHA-"
There were clear sounds of mayhem in the background, and I ran across another small bridge that connected to the other side, this time to an upper level.
Alfrid quivered and whimpered, but nevertheless followed me, as it was the only safe place to be at that moment.
"Don't leave me!!" He screamed, dramatically.
Ok, so far, Tauriel was missing. My boys were missing.
Azog and Bolg were missing.
And my side bloody gosh darn frickin' hurt.

Just as I ran around the ruined area, turning here and there, Al close behind me, suddenly,
SLAM again.

But this time, what knocked into me stayed on me and before I could blink, I had a nasty, fowl-looking Orc gnawing toward my face, holding onto me tightly by the shoulders.
I cringed and stiffened my body as I held it back, backing into another wall. Alfrid screamed at the scene and scuttled away in horror. The beastie tried to desperately keep biting, until it was then kicked in the..general area that all men dislike being kicked in. And it squealed in extreme pain, giving me a few seconds to recover and prepare for its next attack. Once it recovered, it became even more angry looking than it did before-- if that's even possible for an Orc, since they always appear to look angry... even when they're happy...like little grumpy cats, basically.

It lunged at me, pulling out its filthy black blade..and it lunged it at my head, with hateful eyes.
But I ducked the attack and circled around it quickly, whipping out one of my own blades. In a single motion, I kicked in the back of his leg, which brought him down to the opposite knee, then I grabbed his neck annnnddd slice!

He choked and struggled to breathe, holding the wounded area and he staggered in the spot he was in until at last, he fell sideways to the ground. I straightened my body up, taking a deep breath, then I looked at Alfrid. He had the most terrified look on his face I've ever seen on a man.
But as if it were even possible, he suddenly looked more terrified, and abruptly shot an arm up to point behind me. "LOOK OUTTTTTT!!!"
As I turned, there magically appeared a giant, evil looking ogre that wasted no time snarling, and he swung his enormous club in my general direction.

"Whoa!" I exclaimed, immediately jumping back, just as the club was repeatedly swung and came into contact with the air I once breathed.
I landed hard on my back as the big dumbie's weapon had come back and hit him in the face.
I grinned at his incompetence, as I watched him stagger in a stunned state. In that instance, I leapt up and ran full force towards him, then jumped up and
kick!

with all that was in me..and the hulking brute roared as it struggled to regain balance, until..
crash
He fell over the edge and landed, very hard, on the ground below.
Hey, Alfrid actually warned me that trouble was coming, did this mean we were friends?!

I spun my head around..he still looked terrified, but less intensely. As I got up, I advanced towards him.
"Dude, you showed actual concern for my well-being, are you feeling well?"
"No, I think I just died ten times.."
He hyperventilated and bent over, his whole body starting to tremble.
"I'd say eleven." I pat his back. "It's okay, breathe..breathe.."
Even though I was the one that got attacked...yeah.
"Bro, have you seen the others? My companions, Tauriel, anybody??"
"No.." He wheezed.
I sighed. "Okay..c'mon. We've gotta find 'em."
I gave him one last, rough pat to the back and then lunged up the stairs that took me a fair height up in the air.
Alfrid wasted a few minutes, recomposing himself, before he proceeded to run after me.
"Wait!!" He yelled, hoarsely..even though I was standing perfectly still, looking at the ground below.
There was no sign of anyone.
"..come on..where are you??" I quietly said to myself.

As Alfrid approached from behind, I could clearly hear that he was still struggling for breath.
"You doing ok there, slacker?"
No response.
Instead, the unexpected happen..a piece of the stone we stood on collapsed underneath him..and since he was standing too close to the edge, he, well, fell over the edge.
Incoherent sounds escaped my mouth as I rushed after him and he screamed rather...high..in my ear, as I caught him with one hand. Ohhhhh my gosh, heavy person.

"Alfrid!!" I squeaked, pulling out whatever bit of strength I had in me to keep him in place.
"GIMME YOUR OTHER HAND."
The stupid little larva, however, was much too petrified and kept looking down, whimpering like a idiotic maniac.
"ALFRID, FOR THE LOVE OF SMITHY'S GANG, DON'T MAKE ME DROP YOU. GIVE-ME-YOUR-OTHER-HAND!!"
He wept and whipped his gaze back on me.
I struggled...and struggled.....and struggled.....and struggled.
"DO IT, YOU SQUEALLY KRILL."
With that creative insult, he slapped his open hand with mine and now having enough leverage to pull him up, I pulled him up. My god in heaven, what a struggle.
But I did it.

He was pulled over the edge and we both fell backward, suddenly breathing like a couple of waterless fish.
But there was no time for resting or breathing or fish!
I now was struggling back up.
"OH, BLESS YOU."
My breath was almost once again taken away from me as he grabbed my shoulders and nearly fell into me.
"THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! AW, I COULD KISS YOU."
"WELL DON'T." I heaved, quickly pushing him away before that could ever again, ever, no.
I regained all the air I had lost, closing my eyes for a moment to simply recover.
This was insanity.
..and I loved it.

Looking back at Alfrid, who still  looked scared as all heck, I realized what had to be done..
"Ya know what..you're right. You should go to the T.A.R.D.I.S....it's best. "
I nodded and he nodded right back, a bit more vigorously.
"--Just knock on the door and Moriarty should let another....person  like yourself right in..."
He smiled, revoltingly. "Thank you, ma'am..thank you! I ain't arguing with that logic!"
Course you're not, cuz it's my logic.
With that, Alfrid disappeared, neither of us speaking any further words to one another.

I watched him leave, to make sure he departed safely.
Once he passed the wall blocking my view, he was on his own.
Turning back, I let out a prolonged exhale and I shuddered all over, making a whimpering noise.
The thought of Alfrid showing me any kind of affection, past patting me on the back, was enough to demoralize me forever.
- - -
I bet you're getting bored with me. Well, push off!
I'm the main character here, you can't get bored with me.
The only way of this story getting told is if I tell it. Cuz I'm the Character Queen, suckas!!
Or, at least..ya know.

I finally skid to a stop on the trail when I at last spotted a few of my friends.
Tauriel was alright..in fact, she was busily kicking bad guy butt like a champ and it brought a grin to my face.
Until a huge Orc snuck up behind her and readied to swing their blade at her--
I was about to warn her, but a wild Kili suddenly appeared, who dashed up to the beast and ran his sword through his chest. As it fell down, Tauriel swung around in alarm.
But once she saw what the dwarf had done for her, her expression towards him was one of delight and surprise. Heh..looks like I didn't have  to bring out matchmaker Sarah, after all.
Those two kids were connecting just fine on their own. :3

"There you are!"
My eyes cut to my left and met with the boys. Delight!
"Whatta ya mean here I am? I've been looking all over for you!"
The Master and Joker made long strides towards me, looking down at the fight happening below.
"Where were you?! And where's Bane?!"
Master said nothing, only jerked his head at a far off direction and I turned to see..
Bane was a good distance away, missing his coat, busily pummeling foes like nobody's business.
That man was a beat-down machine. He was tearing the Orcs apart without even a second's hesitation.
"He told us to go looking for you.." Joker said, boredly, as if it were some kind've chore.
"Anything eventful happen or have you been hiding in a corner this whole time?"
"Did you get scared and need your villains?" Master teased.
"If you count me being attacked by an angry Orc, almost squashed into a pancake by an ogre, and pulling up Alfrid's heavy, gross old butt from an edge of a wall, then yes, something eventful happened."

Master's eyebrows rose.
"Well look at you. I was starting to doubt your proclamation of being a tough girl."
There were flames in my eyes. "You wanna get punched again?"
He quickly held his nose, as Joker let out an arm. "Now ladies, now's not the time."
Master gave him such a glare.
"--We gotta take care of these  clowns first before we kill eachother."
He then snatched Master and me and put his long arms around our necks as he forcibly pulled us close.
"Let's all work together."
He grinned so evilly, I cringed. Look away, quick!
"--have you two seen Azog and Bolg? I'm getting a bad feeling inside."
"Who?" "Azog and Bolg." "Who?" "The head honchos." "You mean the head honchos?" "..Yes."
"Nope, haven't seen 'em." "Crap." "Language." "Crap isn't language." "Why's that?" "Cuz it's not."
"Nah, why crap?" "Cuz if you don't see your enemies in battle, that means they're upto something.."

I tossed J's arm away and started to dash off, "--And that means I've gotta jet!"
"Now hold on, not without us! We aren't losing you again, little miss!"
"Chill, bro. Be a good villain and worry about your own well-being..I've got things to do!"
"Demens, wa--"
Just as I got far enough, there was a hideous snarl and I halted, spinning around.
Two Orcs had suddenly climbed from the side of where I was and were now surprise-attacking the boys, who ducked their advances as best as they could. Their reflexes were actually rather impressive.
However, Master was grabbed from behind by another Orc that appeared, where the savage creature tried to bite his neck. But the Timelord wouldn't have that and quickly turned the tables, by pulsing his hands with electricity and jamming them backwards into the head of the beast.
It was knocked back several yards.
He then turned and began to shoot out energy at more incoming Orcs.
Joker handled things a bit differently...he beat his attackers with everything he got with extreme ferocity and anger and critically wounded many of them, leaving them on the ground to suffer.
Once they were all down, he casually licked his lips and jumped up on top of one, pulling out his switchblade. Here, he..well.....I'd rather not.
Let's just put it as..I wouldn't wanna be those Orcs, at that point.
And this was the reason the Joker worried me. A lot.

Getting past what I just saw was a bit difficult, as I tried to turn back around and continue on my way.
I forced myself up the stairs.
For now, the boys had things well  over covered.

- - -

I hurried down the walkway and came across another bridge.
I rushed over it, constantly scanning the area for any sign of the Pale Orc.
Where ever the heck he was, though...he wasn't having the best of luck keeping his lackeys.
They were dwindling in number by the minute.
I approved.

As I came upon the other side of the bridge, I anticipated another "surprise" attack, but was in the clear.
Passing a wall, I saw down below.
Thranduil was now joining the fight alongside Tauriel, Kili, Dwalin and Bombur.
Bifur also joined in. The elven king was washing away the remainders of the Orc filth, while still mounted on his majestic moose. And the group's fighting skills were exemplary.
Man, I had some cool friends. ;)

One Orc suddenly popped up infront of me...yay, another surprise attack...and I skid to a stop-
when boom!
It was knocked away. I watched it's body slam into the wall. My eyes moved up and my savior revealed himself to be Bane. His own gaze turned on me. "Miss Demens."
He nodded, respectfully, coming in close. "Bane, old boy." I grinned.
His eyes shifted to behind me and I knew what was coming.
I quickly ducked, just as a blade swung past where my head was, then immediately punched the gut of the Orc attacker, grabbing his blade-wielding hand and shot up, headbutting him hard in the skull.
Here, I twisted his arm that I still had a hold on, and he cried out in a squeal..as I rotated him around by said arm, I took the blade he no longer had control of and drove it right through him, causing his own weapon to betray him. Once I felt his tension loosen, I kicked him away by the back and his body crashed into a couple of others that were fast approaching, which in turned caused them all to tumble down the stairs behind them.

I rose my eyebrows at my luck and glanced innocently over at Bane.
His attention turned from the Orcs' previous location to me. "..Where did you learn your fighting skills?"
I half-smiled, my eyes still enlarged with an innocent glow. "..Well, half of it is from my Pop..."
I shrugged. "..The other half is from me watching you guys too much."
I swear, I could detect a smile coming from that man.
But you'd never know that for sure, as his mask hid all emotion from his face.
"Have you seen Azog and Bolg?" "The leaders?" I nodded.
He nudged his bald head behind him. "That way. Take caution, he is heavily armed. He will not be an easily defeated foe." I smirked. Neither will I.

As I passed him, I rose an arm up and laid my hand on his shoulder. "Thanks, man."
He nodded back at me as I left, "My pleasure, miss Demens."
Ahhh, connecting with villains. What a time to be alive!
. . . . . . .
Well, I thought it was well beyond time for me to drop the high level junk and literally drop a level.
So I dropped a level.
As I did, I was almost immediately greeted by Kili. "Sarah!"
I eyed his direction. Behind him was Fili.
"You're going to face Azog, aren't you?" "Don't you dare try to stop me."
I tried to get away, but Kili grabbed my arm and his gaze fixed on me with more force.
"You misunderstand..we're coming with you. Our uncle went after him. We need to help him."
"So we'll fight together," Fili added.
Seeing the big picture, I loosened myself. I sniffed a laugh at the two and their bravery..and I shrugged.
"..Then what are we waiting for?"
....
As the three of us entered a more ruined area of the city, the air became much more colder and emptier.
It had a more foreboding feel..I couldn't help but detect a distinct presence of death.
But I didn't want to accept it. I came there to change events, not repeat them.
I didn't care about the outcome anymore. As long as they were alive.

So once we passed the destroyed gate to the new district, I drew my sword.
We had to get to Thorin quickly, but I wasn't about to let Kili and Fili get creamed.
Especially because of carelessness.
There was a reason I felt different in this area..the Orcs were obviously planning something.

"Thorin!" Fili yelled--so loud, his voice boomed and echoed off the walls.
I immediately slapped my hand over his mouth, followed by an aggressive,
"SHHHH!!! not so freaking loud!!"
Before I knew it, Kili sprang from us and charged like the wind down the path.
"Kili, get back here!!" I exclaimed, while trying to be as quiet as possible.
But he didn't listen.
And to make matters worse, his brother ran right after him..however, I was quick to catch him by the arm, "Don't you dare!!" "I have to go after my brother!"
"Think, Fili. Azog wants to obliterate you guys. You're no good to Kili and Thorin on your own..you need my help!" He paused. "........I'm sorry, but I can't!"
"Can't what?!" "Leave them on their own!"
Well, I couldn't do much at that point, except to let him go.
As soon as I did, he leapt from me like a toad and ran so fast, I expected him to trip.
"Fili!" I called after him, again trying to be as quiet as possible.

I shot my arms up, totally umphed by how ridiculous the situation was.
"UNbelievable!" So much for working together! HA!
It was at that moment, I heard an Orc call. I spun around, in search for who done it, but there was not a single Orc in sight. Aw, to heck with it.
"What's the matter, Azog?! Not man enough to face me yourself?! Real good to pick on young girls and short people, btw!" I backed away a little, grinning at my own taunt.
"Just shows me how big of a coward you really  are, not wanting to take on a real  threat. Like an elf..a man..although that hobbit looked to be a bit of a problem for ya! Did it hurt getting bested by a midget??"

And bam.
Within seconds, out of no where, 5 to 6 Orcs jumped out from the hallow walls and advanced towards me.
My taunt worked.

My grin widened and arms shot out happily over my head.
"Hiya, boys!"
As the first Orc reached out, it was greeted with a swift swipe of the sword to the arm, punch in the face, then thrusted blade straight through the back.
I gave it a kick away to retrieve my blade, where it fell face first behind me and using the same arm that held the sword, I blocked an Orc's attack that came inches from my face.
Grabbing his  bladed arm, I locked him in place, drove his own sword right into him, then kicked his body by the gut into two others. As they fell back, another came running at me and was met with a strike of my forearm to the face which briefly stunned it, while I pulled out my other sword and brought my blades along his neck..where I then slid the two off and he fell back.

"You're losing your boys out here, Azog!" I yelled, before bending backwards, avoiding a blade that slashed where my head was...I headbutted the jerk as I sprang back up with tremendous force, then at once elbowed another in the face, stunning him. I swung a blade with my other hand to take care of the previous Orc, then slashed at the elbowed Orc's knees, finally running it through and letting it fall behind me.
I heard loud footsteps rush from behind as I advanced, and I ducked, letting the Orc swing his sword above, passing me- then I kicked it's legs in, shot up, put him in a headlock as he fell and snap
All six of the demonic creatures were down and I immediately kept walking.
"--Not that you had many to begin with."
Oooh, I knew that  would tick him off.

Killing Orcs aside, I seriously missed fighting.
As a child, I got away with it. But as a bigger child, I get in trouble. Here, fighting was widely accepted.
I didn't have a bunch of whiny wusses grinding my gears about violence.
But ya know.. some bad guys need  to be kicked to a pulp.

Throwing my arms out, I lifted my chin up.
"Still here!"
..but there was silence....as if he were afraid to dispatch more.
"...What, no more fun?"
I pouted my lip as I pivoted. "Aww..you afraid you gonna lose more, Zoggy??..you weren't counting on me coming around, were ya?"
Yes, an annoying, or rather obnoxious, bratty little girl that wiped out Orc squadrons single-highhandedly.
He hated me, I could tell. It's a gift.

When he still didn't send any more Orcs out, I started to suspect something was up.
Perhaps he had fled the scene. Maybe before doing so, he dispatched his little troupe to take care of me while he himself took care of other matters.
My heart fell heavy when I realized....Thorin.
Oh, no...not after all I did to change all the outcomes. I wasn't gonna lose now.
I refused.

The path now clear...I jumped to action.
- - - - -
As I feared, Azog was indeed busying himself with other matters.
Matters that concerned the line of Durin.

I heard quite a bit of shouting and swords clashing, which caused my legs to go a little more faster than they'd usually go. As I approached a wall with various chunks taken out've it, I peeked at the scene taking place, before I, you know, just went and leapt into action.
Fili and Kili were fighting off the advancing Orc lackeys and Bolg, all while appearing to be defending their uncle..who was holding his shoulder, painfully. Uh-oh.

The lackeys were vigorous, even more so than Bolg, and wouldn't cut the dwarves the slightest bit of a break. I gripped the edge of the gaping hole that I was using to spy on everyone through.
That's when I noticed, a little ways next to me, stood Azog.
He was grinding his teeth, tightening his fists, obviously more than eager for dwarf blood to be spilt.
He made me sick. In more ways than one.

Azog and Bolg

The fight came to a stop when Fili and Kili took care of the Orc lackeys and left Bolg standing alone.
He backed away when he saw that his forces had been depleted and it was just him.
Hm...apparently, being a coward is hereditary.
"Enough!" Shouted Azog, who rose his arm high. All eyes turned to him.
And when I say 'all eyes', I mean mine too.
The wounded Thorin's gaze lifted to him, with utter hatred and disgust.
Azog, the jerk that he was, simply smiled at him and chuckled, heartily and evilly.
I can't even find comparisons to what it sounds like when Azog laughs. To me, it was revolting.
To anyone else, it was frightening.
"What has come over you, Oakenshield? You look pained....tired.."
He gestured at his injury. Azog, you bad word.
Within seconds, however, he got serious. "Even with an army of outsiders..I can not be defeated."
With one bladed arm raised, he pointed at the dwarves with the tip of his sword.
"Your line...ends tonight."
This brought chills to my spine. no no no, you one-handed FREAK.

I sprung into action.
"Aha!" came out of my mouth, as I jumped from my hiding place and leapt up onto a big rock, where I quickly put my hands on my hips and struck a pose.
Suddenly, I was Peter Pan.
The father and son Orcs jerked their heads in my direction, in surprise.
My eccentric outburst was taking them aback and I lifted my chin, in pride.
But when their attention adjusted to me and they had a few minutes to realize who I was, Azog suddenly smirked with nasty pointed teeth. He slowly took a step toward the rock.
"The young outlander......how did you manage to get past my forces?"
"Wasn't hard, really.." I snickered, smugly, as I tapped my fingers against my swords, sitting within their sheaths. "There were only six of them, after all..."

Ohhh, man. Did I hit a nerve. Triumphed over by a girl, wasn't that just wizard.
He pointed at me, angrily, with his blade. "Foolish female human SCUM! I will rip your throat out!"
Hey now, no need to be offensive. It's not like I'm proud of the gender I am or anything. ;P
"Sarah....get out!" Thorin yelled, grunting and wincing painfully.
"Your queen is negotiating, shush." "QUEEN?" Azog's eyes enlarged, crazily.
Not in shock. But in delight. And a grin showed up, that brought steady chills down my spine.
All the anger he had only seconds before had vanished.
"You're the one I was told about...the one that has power over..our kind. I was told you would come. I was told to put an end to you." "Lovely...so which book club suggested all that?"
He chuckled, "Delaying the inevitable is pointless. They told me you would bring change...and I will not allow that to happen." "So sue me. Bruh, you need therapy. Quit picking on dwarves. No class, man. No class."
"ENOUGH."
Oh, barnacles. And we were having so much fun.
His nasty teeth barred as his son got closer to his side, and both their hands tightened their grip around their weapons. Wuh-oh.
"Bolg...bring me her head."
SERIOUSLY?

Bolg was an obedient lad, though, and immediately went to follow his Pop's command.
He started to approach closer to me, his weird face gnarled, his height quite menacing compared to mine.
But even now, I wasn't afraid. I just gave the kid a huge smile and wiggled my eyebrows, playfully.
"Is it our turn, cutie? I thought you'd never ask."
Just as I was about to have my moment of action, Bolg coming only inches from where I stood, a burst of electricity rushed past my head, the sound sizzling in my ear, and made a direct hit that penetrated through the Pale Orc's spawn.
Being brought to his knee's with a painful exclamation, Bolg's whole body shook uncontrollably, his scarred up eyes widening with shock. Literally.
I blinked and stared for a few seconds, as I tried to figure out what in the heck, then turned to see my companions standing behind me. My face lit up and a grin appeared.
"Ello, boys."

Master, Bane and even Moriarty came closer, watching Bolg shake in enormous amounts of pain.
Joker was strangely absent, but this probably was only an implication that was he still busy doing whatever he does. As I looked back, I saw that Bolg was quickly recovering, and I drew out my weapon..
that is, before Fili and Kili leapt into action and simultaneously plunged their blades right through him with a harsh battle cry. My heart skipped. Good gravy! Talk about turning the tables!

He gurgled and choked as the blades dug deeper into him..there wasn't much he could do except stare, open-mouthed, up at the sky.
The two dwarves held their blades in position, waiting for him to cave in..when he didn't, though, after several minutes, they retracted their swords..and this was met with him leaning over, regaining his strength and air, grinning and chuckling evilly.
My eyes enlarged. What the fruit.
His eyes moved up to me, which was a chilling thing to experience. With one hand, he wiped the blood away from his mouth..and then licked it. hmmmmmmmm...no comment.
"You have no power over me.." he challenged.
O YEAH?
"We'll see about that, voodoo doll!" Suddenly, I lunged.
Straight into his arms, straight into his care, straight into the fire, which shocked everyone around me..and with one swift motion..I headbutted him.
He roared in agony, bringing his head back, and I proceeded to take my blade and stab right through him and knock him down with my forced weight. He collapsed on his back and I struck him again.
He was already howling and squealing like a combo of a wolf and a pig.

Strangely, he widened his gaze and held his freshly received wound, that had dark fluids already start to seep from it; he looked at me in horror of what I might do next. Just as I grit my teeth and went for another stab, he took his bulky arm and with tremendous force, threw me back.
I collided with the gaping stone wall, which hurt like heck. When I made the landing and recovered enough to look back, I saw that Bolg had struggled up and painfully, he staggered away...he pushed past the dwarves and even his father, whom called to him to get back there......but it was useless.
Bolg was now wounded, and had just deserted his father.

No time to waste. I saw my chance with Azog's back being turned, and hurriedly I scrambled up, snatching my fallen sword. With a quick charge, I rose my arm up, ready for the swing--but as I approached, Azog snapped his head at me, ruining my surprise attack. What the heck. I let it out.
With a scream, I swung my sword at his core, but he took his bladed arm and effortlessly blocked it, our metal clashing together, making my teeth chatter.
His expression now returned to anger and with a swift motion, he brought his leg up and kicked me back, right into the stomach. This blew me several feet away and I briefly had the wind knocked out of me as the blow felt like being hit by five cement blocks and then a log and then a piano.
I winced and coughed like a fool from the pain.

He took advantage of this and got up super close, where he swung his blade--this was thwarted, however, when it was blocked by another.
My eyes and his looked...my savior revealed himself to be Thorin.
"Get back, you filth." oooh, feisty Thorin.
The Pale Orc gritted his teeth and growled, and their swords were retracted.
Thorin moved from the side to infront of me, and my eyes grew in size.
oh no..I was trying to avoid this.

"Oakenshield...I will only walk over your corpse to get to the girl...your effort is meaningless."
And just as Azog took a swing, I skipped.
"Noo!!!" I elbowed Thorin out of the way.
The sword whizzed in the air and my eyeballs popped as I only had seconds to dodge this attack--
then Ninja-style, I brought the top part of my body all the way back as I slid towards him, and the sword's edge sliced right above me, directly through where my head would've been.
When it passed, everything going slo-mo again, I brought my body back up, took a fist and
POW!
Punched him directly in the face.
He threw his head back in pained shock as we grazed past eachother, and I stumbled to a halt as he went out've sight behind me. Swinging around, I could see he was still recovering, shaking his head madly to buck up..as I went for another surprise attack, he ruined it once more and decided to come at me, swinging his weapon for the twelfth time. I moved my head from the attempted decapitation, and I took a slice at his arm, then whipped out my other blade, which I dove into his leg hard.
He roared.

"Demens!" I heard, but did not answer, nor pay attention to who it was that said it.
I was too focused on pulling from my years of training to bring the blasted Pale Orc down.
After my successful attacks, I elbowed his face and went behind him, kicking him with tremendous force right in the back and he was hurdled forward.
He once again recovered and spun around..within seconds, he was charging.
I had just enough time to block his sword attack, but not enough to stop him from taking his other hand and grabbing my throat. My circulation cut off, I began to instantly choke, what with the amount of strength he was using to squeeze the air out've me. I then felt him lift my body up into the air, which put even more pressure on my neck, that was feeling as if it were gonna snap.
I couldn't help squeezing my eyes in pain as I struggled to break free, kicking my legs underneath me.
I honestly expected him to finish me by running his blade right through me.
Which would be a bogus ending to my adventure and I really didn't like the idea of that happening.
I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO MEET BATMAN.

I refused to prepare for the end, and I kept on fighting.
Dropping my sword, I took my hand, curled it into a fist, and brought it up like a bullet, square into his ugly face. He snarled at my defiance, his pointy teeth glistening in the light, and his grip got even tighter.
Just as I was kicking at his whatever, he did the unexpected and jerked his arm away, sending me hurdling right back into the stone wall. I brought my arms up to protect my face as my front side smashed into the hard surface and I fell back with a thud.
Pain.

I didn't recover as fast as I hoped. My entire head rang something fierce as my body felt completely weakened, and I just wound up laying there. My ears cleared up enough to hear him chuckle.
I could feel his gaze rather strongly and this caused me to finally look over at him.
But he was no longer pointed in my direction. He was pointed at Thorin's.
The dwarf wasted no time in charging at him to avenge me...but after a few clangs of their swords, Azog easily knocked him back. This hurt my heart as I realized the only reason was because of Thorin's injury.
Thorin didn't stand a chance.
And clearly, neither did I.
To heck with this..I struggled up.

Azog rose his arms up high and he laughed, wickedly.
Kili and Fili ran in defense of their uncle, standing infront of Thorin with their swords pointed towards the Pale Orc. I grabbed my fallen blade, holding my throbbing head.
Azog stepped closer to the three.
"Do you wish to hear what they also told me?" His wicked voice broke the silence.
His body grew in height almost, and he towered menacingly over the two brothers.
His head bowed, darkly. "They told me...that by my line's hand..I end the line of Durin."
There was fear in their dwarven faces.
I didn't know for sure. But I could tell he was smiling.
"Everything that you have done has changed nothing."
I turned towards him, facing his back, and I forced a few exhales through my nose, sword in hand.
I swallowed.
". . . where there is death . . there will always be death. ."
this struck a nerve.
"--took the words right out've my mouth."

This time, before he could do anything, I ran straight at him--and with one quick motion, I jumped in the air, got on his back and thrust!
I dove my sword directly into his heart.
He threw his head all the way back and what sound came out of his mouth was unearthly.
My ears were deafened, but this didn't stop me.
I tightened my grip around his throat and desperately dug my blade deeper into him, driving him berserk. With enough force, I jerked Azog back, sending him flying in reverse towards the wall.
I braced for impact as he slammed his body against it, which shot a ridiculous amount of pain up my spine.
Especially when he proceeded to repeatedly shove me over and over against it to get me off.
But I didn't budge, and his efforts only caused me to tighten up even more, forcing the blade and my hold to escalate in depth and strength. When his actions failed, he tried something else.
I winced intensely and ducked my head as he reached behind to swipe at it.
I desperately held myself low, trying to ride on long enough for him to cave.
When this attack also failed, he himself became desperate and grabbed the blade that was now poking through his chest, and he tried to jerk it backward..but it was no use.

He went back to grabbing, jerking, to everything he could and I held on for as long as I could.
This lasted for what seemed like forever, and I did my very best not to scream.
Until...well.....I started to feel the life in him leave.
He weakened. He became slower. He started to choke for air.
His body repeatedly flinched. His resistance lessened.
Azog..was..fading away.
and before my brain could register anything else....he stopped.

I held on for a few long, excruciating minutes..until his body finally gave up and he collapsed.
I fell forward with him until right before he made impact, then I let go.
I immediately stood up straight and stared down at him..unable to process anything.
I was trembling, and honestly felt like I was hyperventilating.
I couldn't control my body at that point, widening my eyes into saucers, my limbs shaking like there was an earthquake, and my breathing forced, gaspy, desperate for air.
My eyes were glued to Azog's motionless body.
he was..........dead.
I defeated him. I actually defeated him.

It didn't take Thorin and his nephews long to react; they were soon running towards me, Fili taking my sword away, Kili checking to see if I was injured, and Thorin bending down to examine the Pale Orc.
I watched breathlessly as he did so..soon, he stood, and looked at me. Quite solemnly, mind you.
"He's dead."
The sound passed right through me. Him saying it now made it seem real.
It was official. And I knew exactly how I felt about it. I was relieved.

The boys came out from behind the rock I had stood on before...they were stunned.
Jim's gaze was fixed on me, whereas Master looked confusedly around, and Bane eyed the Pale Orc's corpse. Master at last turned his attention to me and his eyes met mine, which felt like scolding fire.
"You..killed him."
. . . yes . . yes, I did.

They obviously couldn't believe it. That I was capable of doing something that their enemies would not- well, at least Bats and the Doc. And I know it's weird for saying it...but they seemed a bit more serious about me now...and I liked it.

"..You..you did it." Fili stared down at Azog.
Kili held on to my arm, trying to help me be calm again.
Thorin looked back at me and I detected a sense of...joy. "..You saved us.."
I stared at him a bit sternly...until he came right up and laid a hand on my shoulder, a smile escaping his mouth. "Thank you."
- - -

"Praise be. You defeated Azog!"
"I can't believe it!! You did it!"
"Extraordinary!!"
While I was loving the praise I was getting from the others once they arrived at the scene, my mind couldn't help but start focusing on the next problem, that was eating away heavily at my thoughts.
My head turned to the mountain, becoming quite visible in the once again darkened sky.
Smaug.
I was quiet..and worried.
Especially when the others informed me that Joker had gone missing. They couldn't find him anywhere.
I now wondered if J had gone after Smaug himself.......or worse.
The others' attention turned to the mountain, as well. Bilbo stood next to me, shifting nervously.
"Smaug.." he whispered. His eyes moved up to me and I cut mine down at him.
We were both thinking the same thing.

I could hear the others quite clearly.
"How are we going to defeat a dragon?" Master questioned, having been standing next to Bane and Jim.
"We should consider sending Bilbo into the mountain," Thorin piped in. "We will camp outside."
"With circumstances changed, I would advise taking a different approach." Gandalf suggested.
"Agreed!" said Balin. "Maybe Sarah will know what to-"
"Where's my gun?"
The air went quiet after Jim's sudden words.
"Where's Bilbo?!" Bofur let out.
The next voice was more distant, "Where's Demens?!" Master exclaimed.
I can only suspect they all looked in our direction.
For Bilbo and I were indeed gone.
