biding time

Through the halls of the steadily decaying hospital, the two beasts dragged their new victims across the floor, both of whom were exhausted from screaming and fighting their abductors.
The air was now teeming with speckles of darkness floating from the power constructed by their master.
And the two Pine children nearly choked as they entered this atmosphere.

The beasts fast approached the gym area where they slammed the doors open and threw the children at the group of other abductees. The Pine children yelped at the painful landing, but were soon greeted by a brave boy who rushed to them and helped them to their feet.
"Are you okay?" He whispered, his black hair sticking to his forehead from the humidity in the room.
The Pine children looked up at him, trying to keep from shaking.
"Y-yeah.." The Pine boy reluctantly answered, while his sister shook her head.
"No, I'm not alright..these dipheads dirtied up my sweater!!"
"Shhh! Mabel! You'll only tick them off!"

Mabel still felt compelled to wave her fist at the two monsters before her, to which her brother quickly grabbed her and moved her away. The boy who approached them took hold of both their arms and hurried them back to the growing group of children, where he set them down.

The Pine boy looked around at each of the crying, terrified youths who were huddled together for support.
"Where did all these kids come from?"
"I have no idea.." The boy whispered. "But I'm not even from around here. They've been bringing a bunch of kids from all over the place.."
"We're not from around here, either." Mabel interjected. "These morons just took us from our friends."
"Your friends?"
"Yeah, Sarah, the Scooby gang, Mulder, Scully.." The Pine boy muttered.
"Don't forget Eleven, Dipper." Mabel included.
That's when the boy perked up. "Eleven?!"
The Pine twins' eyes honed in on him. "You know her??"
"Know her?! She's my--" The boy tried to contain his excitement. "-She's my friend!"
The Pine twins looked at one another.
The boy started to sag, "What??"
Dipper shifted, uncomfortably. "Well..we're hoping she's okay. Last we saw, she was fighting the faceless dude."

The boy slightly felt a little relief. "Ah well..she's okay..she can handle anything.."
He re-positioned his legs as he chuckled to himself.
"I can't believe she came after me..she's trying to save me."
They didn't know how to respond to that. So proceeded onward.
"What's your name, anyhow? I'm Mabel..this is my brother Dipper."
The boy glanced at them, smiling warmly despite their situation. "Me? I'm Mike."

The three's pleasant conversation was cut short.
When the clown appeared and suddenly jumped up into Mike's face.
The boy widened his eyes as he gasped.
The clown smiled a demonic, unnatural smile.
"Heya Richie..I've missed ya."
His brows furrowed when he heard this, "R--Richie?? I'm..I'm not R-Richie..."
"This kid isn't from your world, idiot."
The clown turned his head at the wolf standing behind him, who was speaking with a forced and snarling voice. He pointed at the creature next to him. "He's from his world."
He then chuckled as he realized where his comrade was really from. "Of sorts."

The clown contemplated this for a minute before snapping his head back to Mike.
"Huh..you look so much like him..funny."
He perked right back up, smiling wickedly at the group of children.
"So much fear..it's so scrumptious...I can taste it.."
"Alright, freak, you better watch it!"
His eyes zoned in on Mabel.
"Our friends are coming and they're coming for you! So BACK OFF, mister!!"
"Ah, your friends.."

The attention of the room turned to the one now entering from the door across the room.
"Your friends who could not stand a chance against the power of even one of your kidnappers."
The man with silvery hair and elegant mannerisms slid past the others and stood in front of the children, smiling cunningly.
"I am very sorry to disappoint you, dear babes...but your friends are destined to fail you. For they can not fight against our power. They are bound by their own physical restraints. They have not the ability to take on our forces. Which makes this plan.."
He let out an arm, turning his eyes to his open palm. A sword then manifested out of no where into his grasp, making the group of children gasp in horror.
"..Foolproof."

Dipper glanced at his sister, then Mike, and his chest puffed up.
"..You're wrong. They WILL stop you. They have their own power you're not aware of! And Sarah? Sarah's got a bunch of tricks up her sleeves and is already uniting us against you, so you watch out..cuz your time is coming, dude!"

The man stared down at Dipper with deep interest, his eyes sparkling with a fire that craved ending the child. He merely smiled however and approached him, bending down to his level.
His sword started to point at the boy's head. "You are going to be..such.."
The tip tapped Dipper's nose, making the Pine boy flinch.
"..A good little monster."
